Permatex 81730 Flowable Silicone Windshield and Glass Sealer, 1.5 oz.

I discovered this silicone is thinner than what I usually use, making it easy to apply when repairing a cracked headlight on my car. It spread evenly and settled nicely, creating a good seal. Even after some cold, rainy days, the repair looks fine and there are no leaks. It was a handy fix that kept me from replacing the entire headlight assembly.

I find this Permatex silicone sealer helpful for sealing small cracks in my windshield. Its flowable consistency makes applying it straightforward, which is a big plus when I need a fast fix. I use this flowable silicone for sealing the seams on my silnylon tents (SeekOutside Tipi, NEMO wagon top), it works great, cures within a few hours and keeps the rain out of my tent. I have also used this product to seal cook custom sewing silnylon tarps. The silicone doesn't crack and remains clear, I have had this applied on multiple tarps and tents for years with no issues or need to reapply. I assume it would be good for using with a windshield too, but my primary experience is with waterproofing outdoor gear.

Loved it. It fixed my problem. The only down side is that halfway through using it the tub busted the side out. And i lost half of the glue because of the tub braking open. And I would say 1.5 oz. Doesn't sound like a lot but it went far.

2019-'23 read sliding windows are notorious for leaking...and that's a nogo because there is a lot of electronics on the back wall of cab that are vulnerable to damage from water intrusion. My Ram 1500 is a 2020 model. The dealership replaced the rear window once under warranty, and exactly 7 days after the replacement we got a hard rain and the leak was back. So, upon the advice of several in the forum I belong to, I bought a case of this permatex flowable silicone. I sealed the crap out of the rear window, third brake light (also known to leak), and the sharkfin antenna on the roof. I'm proud to say that after two high pressure carwashes and tow fairly hard rains, I am leak free thanks to this product. I do have one minor complaint, and that being, on the label it says it dries clear. It does not. It's more of a slightly milky white. It's not that noticeable if you're not looking for it, and quite honestly, I'd rather see a slight hint of sealant rather than have a leaky window. I don't blame the dealership of the installers because they are forced to abide my manufacturer installation procedure. I blame Ram/Stellantis for a faulty install procedure. It's almost like that want it to leak, so the customer will return for more repairs. I'm glad I decided to go with this silicone sealant, because as it should be, I can now leave my truck outside in the rain, or run the truck through a carwash, and not experience leakage. I have several extra tubes...but any homeowners can find a use for some silicone, so it won't go to waste. Good product.

My classic car had a pool of water in footwell after I forgot cover. I used this sealant around windscreen and waited for rain . Car now free of leaks , easy to apply and very effective.
