Organic Maca Root Powder, 1 lb, Gelatinized, Peruvian

After reading up on the benefits of Maca I was on the hunt for a gelatinized version that would be easy to digest. This particular brand is very tasty, has a light malty/nutty flavor and gives me instant and sustained energy and focus. be mindful of how much you use though - the daily dosage recommended is 1-3 tsp. I started with 1 in a smoothie and I was hopped up for hours (in a good way)..some may want to ease into it. I have had no digestion or stomach issues with this product. Been making a Maca + Matcha Green Tea Almond Milk latte each morning to replace my coffee. I don't miss my coffee at all and crave this Maca drink instead. In the afternoon, when energy takes a dip after lunch, I make a small maca almond milk tea with nutmeg + cinnamon and this carries me throughout the rest of the workday. It's pretty awesome and I already feel more energetic - hope to experience some of the other benefits as well soon!

I was happy to receive this. In an earlier post, I wrote that I was concerned that my package contained several empty baggies (tiny zip top bags) mixed in with the powder. The seller/owner (Alf) wrote me back that this was intentional so that you can transport maca with you. So I came back and edited my review. I believe in supporting good, quality manufacturers (especially of organic products) and I really appreciate that the owner's response was so kind even though I "dinged" them at first because I didn't understand or see in the description that the little "baggies" were not foreign objects (sorry!). I would buy from this company again. I can tell they care about their customers, showing a level of customer care that is above and beyond what I'm used to seeing. The owner also wrote me back that it takes about fifteen days to start to feel the benefits of the maca powder. I'm on about the fourth or fifth day and I'm excited to see what happens. I do notice that I'm a little less anxious and short tempered. Maca is an adaptogen with stress reducing benefits so I may already be experiencing some benefits. I mainly bought it because I read that Maca contains properties that help with balancing hormones. I have been on thyroid medication for a while and although I know that no medical claims are being made, I've experienced so much improvement in my health and thyroid function by ingesting more raw foods (in the form of green smoothies) and getting daily exercise. I'm hoping that adding Maca to my smoothies will further enhance my results.

Its ok, taste is awful, I was expecting it to be bad but not this bad, even when added to my green smoothing in the morning its hard to stomach. I also don't think it works as well as some of the maca root pills. Defiantly noticed a difference with capsules but not this stuff.

I wasn’t really sure about this but decided to give it a try anyway. At first the smell was too strong for me and didn’t really feel any changes in my overall energy level. But two weeks in and I feel fabulous! I’m in a good mood for no reason, I don’t lose my temper that easily and have energy even after a long shift at work! The way that I’m using it by adding it to my oat meal and chia seeds pudding in the morning, I don’t really feel the smell and taste that much and it’s easier to consume enough amount. Definitely would buy more and recommend this to everyone that feel tired or unhappy all the time lol!

Expiration date is OCTOBER 2018. Taste is absolutely horrible.Gelatinized Maca should has a smoother and sweeter taste with less bitterness. Many people who use regular maca powder complain about a bitter aftertaste, however this is usually the sign of a poor quality maca powder that is high in the troublesome enzymes we spoke about earlier. This bitter taste is actually a warning sign that we shouldn’t be consuming it. Goes to trash.
