where can I buy a new paper clamp (the clear plastic piece that holds the paper) for the 507?

Does the 507 trimmer have a case?

No, but it is light and narrow. If you have ANY sewing skills, you could easily make one OR the box is fairly rugged and should last for a while. BTW, the trimmer is so good.

Would this be able to easily cut through magnetic tape?

It would all depend on the thickness. You may wish to score the tape first, simply to make the cut easier.

how do you cut 8"x8" square when the width scale is only 6"?

I have the next model up from the cutter you have. The simple answer to cutting an 8" square with a 6" scale is to tell you that you have purchased the wrong cutter. The cutter you bought will cut a 12" X 6" strip. On ANY cutter, the table must hold the desired sheet size. The Dahle 550 will hold an 8" X 8" page (Actually a 12" X 12" page) and can easily cut an exact 8" X 8" page.
