SATA to USB 3.0 Adapter, External Hard Drive Converter Cable for 2.5" 3.5" HDD, SSD with Power Supply

It seems to work as intended. Bought it to filter through some of my older drives. On a whim I tried a cd/dvd drive and it will not power it. It will power some of the 2.5 spinning discs without attached power and like other reviewers mentioned it will power ssd without attached power.

This works very well. Note that just a SATA-to-USB converter cable alone does not have enough power. You need the additional power that this cable set provides.

I got the SATA to USB 3.0 Adapter, External Hard Drive Converter Cable for 2.5" 3.5" HDD, SSD with Power Supply. It was worth every penny! It was "EXACTLY WHAT I NEEDED!" It was so Easy to Use on my OLD HARD DRIVE! I hooked it up, just plugged it in and it worked perfectly. Thank You! I was told my old hard drive died, yet I was able to access all my files, pictures and music. I am just tickled with this device! Actually, I'm amazed it was so easy. I'm still moving my files as I had so much on there. My data was so important to me. I also had a "200 Page Family Cookbook" I spent a year putting together and my BACKUP Seagate External Hard Drive did not copy all my files like it should have. Which I backed up regularly. That is when I started researching for this device. My sister thought I was tech savy...lol...I told her no, I just researched what my old hard drive needed for me to access my files. Then, I asked the question on here about whether or not it would work with my Seagate Barracuda 1000GB SATA Model ST 1000DM003. And I got many answers that said yes it should. So, I purchased it and it did work! By the way, "THANK YOU ALL so much for answering my question here because you helped me make the decision!" So, I know I'm not tech savy, but I know how to research and ask questions. And, I'm confident enough to try. So glad I did all this! Hope everyone who answered my question sees this review. I know it would have cost me so much more to have a company get all my data for me. Instead, I used this device myself and it worked perfectly! I would recommend this to anyone whose old hard drive is compatible or if they were told their hard drive died. Awesome product! Thanks again to all who helped me! I hope I can inspire someone else to try this.

Recently received this unit and tried it out with two different hard disks. Works very well. Just hope it lasts and doesn't break or fail in the near term.

worked great right out of the box. took old hard drive out of old computer and hooked up to the adapter. read the drive right off.

The item was as described - a SATA to USB adapter with a 12V, 2A power supply and a USB cable (with USB-A to C attachment). The USB cable is hardwired to the adapter and very short. Similarly, the power cable is also short. The build is average, to be expected for the price point. The SATA attachment itself was solid. I bought this mainly to connect a SATA Bluray internal drive to my PC, but unfortunately, it didn't work. The PC didn't even see the drive. I tried it on two different PCs with the same result. Of course, I noticed later that the product description mentions only HDD and not optical drives. If you're looking to connect optical drives, do not use this product. There are other products specifically mentioning optical drives (which I ended up buying).

Perfect ! I have kept many of my older hard drives and had to go back to these drives for photos . This Sata USB adapter made it easy !

This covertor is a scam This is a scam the product comes with a 5v adapter does not work with ssd and 3.5 " hdd its a scam don't buy this product. 1000 buks for this product and it takes 10 days to get delivered and find out that it wont work and you cant get a refund and we have to be hopeful that the replacement will work this absurd. At least the seller should have the decency to check if the adapter is correct and it works before sending , absolutely bad quality control.

The first item that arrived had a DC jack that did not fit. The second item included a 5V DC adapter instead of a 12V one. I could get neither to work.

Purchased by watching good reviews of the product. What I received is not like image shown on Amazon. The image has 2 indicator lights blue and red. The product I received has one indicator light only and no brand names on adaptor or power plug. Looks like cheap product. And dangerously it can give shock. Luckily I had a tester on my table so I checked am saved. Hope the manufacturer take note of these points and make improvements.
