Great communication set
These are awesome, its a great set that actually worked first time as they should. The range is great, about a kilometer and a half, the sound is great and we get great battery life.Easy to fit and easy to operate once you learn the buttons and voice commands. We have tried other bike to bike sets and this one actually works well and we ride Harleys, with loud exhausts. We find we get very little noise or false start-ups as a result of the bikes.

Great unit but...
I bought this unit because it was rated so well. I can definitely see why. Lots of nice features and works very well. Pairs nicely with my IPhone 6 and responds very well. However, that being said, they really need to improve on the speakers that are included. The sound isn't beefy enough at all. You will likely need to upgrade the speakers. For a unit like this with such nice features and for this amount of money, it really should come with great sounding speakers as well.Great unit but needs better speakers.

A must-have for those who ride in groups!
I bought this to communicate with a good friend while riding as we ride a lot together. I am very satisfied with this product as it delivers what it claims.Performance:All you have to do is speak into the intercom and it recognizes your voice; wind noise does not go through. The bluetooth features are great as well when you want to listen to music on your daily commute. I can see why the G9x is one of the top dogs in the industry.Install:Install was very was and I opted to use the screw-on clip to my helmet. This kit provides everything you need to customize the fit to your liking.Size:The Size of the communicators are very small compared to others and look great on a helmet.Ease of Use:As stated above, all you have to do is speak into the intercom to begin chatting with your riding partner. However, there is a learning curve when switching between using your phone, the intercom, and listening to music. Pairing two devices is very easy as well as pairing with a bluetooth device. The instructions provided may seem vague, but a quick search on the internet provides simple steps to a solution. In conclusion, the saying "you get what you pay for" definitely applies to this product - it comes with everything you need, it delivers what it promises, and adds a ton of fun to riding.

Remains the same, but with some improvements!
The only one defect is that the device still lose the link in long period of use! The sound starts to make noises, like bees, and you have to reset the device to fix it.This bug isn't by the distance of the devices ( one mile ) or by the batteries. Occurs side by side with charge in battery and you'll probably remain without communication above by 3 minutes. But it's better than G4 and more easy to install and to pair. The sound it's better too.

Don't ever want to ride without it
I love this device. Took me a while to figure out one bug - almost thought I'd have to return it before I learned the trick. My G9x is configured to Hook up to a pal on his bike, my wife on my bike (Q3), my Triumph Trophy (best music playback, more radio stations) and my Zumo 660LM. The problem I had was that the G9x would frequently lock up shortly after I turned it on, turning off, and no longer responding to the ON/OFF button. Only way to reset it was to connect it to a power supply.Turned out the problem was me: I was trying to manually connect the G9x to another device before it had finished searching for all devices. If I waited until everything had been found, I could do anything I wanted! It cleanly switches between music (bike) and Zumo with only a 2-3 second lag, reconnecting to the music automatically. When the Zumo interrupts my pal, I have to tap the button to get him back, but that occurs quickly. The range is unbelievable, allowing us to reconnect after getting separated in the mountains. I'd swear we've had a mountain between us, but still had just enough signal to determine where we were, and who was coming to find who. This device is great technology! When we ride 2-up, my pal links to his wife (Q3), and all four of us can talk almost like we were sitting in car. (Almost; there are big motors right under our butts, and they occasionally come through the headset during a hard acceleration.)Oh - I do wish the battery was replaceable, but it completely recharges during lunch (wasn't reporting low yet), and with that lunchtime refresh, has been good for twelve hours of riding without getting a low battery warning. Can't beat that.Oh - and I wish Scala could have told me what I was doing wrong. But it did seem totally disconnected from any sequence. Power on - and LEAVE IT ALONE until all devices have reported in.

bad mic wire on one unit and loose speaker plug ...
Arrived defective, bad mic wire on one unit and loose speaker plug on the other. The combo of intermittent failures made it tough to track down what was wrong, sometimes can't talk on one side sometimes can't hear on the other. Got easier to debug once the mic failed totally. I bought a spare mic and mount for a third spare helmet, swapping parts with that set helped track down what was shoddily built on the other. I could return the whole system to Amazon, but that's a a lot of trouble too now that I've installed all this an paired it with phones etc... The manual is a joke, missing info and just plain wrong in several parts. Cardo is making me pay shipping for the warranty return of their defective equipment. Which I think is bad customer service for a DOA unit. No idea if they'll actually honor their warranty. Can't update the firmware, because their software is currently not compatible with the latest OS version. Sloppy. I should have bought Sena.

works great
The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because I wish they had better sound quality. You can understand voices very well and music is clear, but music isn't of the best quality. Loaded with features that work wonderful.

A huge upgrade from the older model
We had older Scala's and spent half of our pre-ride time trying to pair them and keep them paired. I loved that these came pre-paired. My only complaint is that if you say the word 'radio' or anything that sounds like it while talking on them, then they will switch to radio mode without warning and it takes quite a bit to get them back to intercom mode. However, the sound is clear and they're a wonderful step up from older models!

I am NOT impressed for what I paid...
We went on a group ride and I finally got it setup, updated and what not... it wouldn't pair up and then when it did... the headset would disconnect if you were more than a kilometer away. Halfway through the first ride, the one side shorted out and I have to keep moving the slide on connector up and down to get it to temporarily work. If a big wind gust comes... I have to repeat the process. I am more frustrated at this point and want to send it back.
