What will happen to my Special Needs Child when I am gone: A Detailed Guide to Secure Your Child's Emotional and Financial Future

Good book if you have a young disabled child
This book was good but I already knew the information it contained. I have a 28 year old and had to learn over the years by other parents. I wish I had this book when she was younger. I bought it thinking it would have more information about later in life with disabled, specifically what happens when a parent retires. Looking for information on SSDI and health insurance information. Nobody tells you anything. Its really hard to get information. So if you have a young disabled child this is a great book!

Poor quality and poorly written
I encourage you to heed the poor reviews about this book. I did not and ordered it, but will be returning it ASAP. First, the quality of information: Each chapter reads like a laundry list of things to be concerned about it or financial planning tools. There were no strategies, no ways to approach or think about things, and no guiding principles or insights. In the few instances where there are pro / con lists, even those are severely lacking. I could immediately think of numerous important considerations that were ignored or glossed over. You could get the same list of “things” by simply Googling “special needs estate planning.” I suppose if you aren’t sure what estate planning even is or means, this could be marginally useful, but even that feels like a stretch. Second, the writing: The book is self edited / published, and it shows. There are grammatical errors starting on page 1, and numerous sentences that are structured in convoluted and confusing ways. It made the book a challenge to read, which became unbearable when I quickly realized the poor quality of the content. I tried flipping to different chapters hoping it wouldn’t be the same, but to no avail. I am all for self-published books and can overlook confusing editing when quality of content is there. Unfortunately, this book falls far short on all accounts. Spare yourself the money and frustration, and move on.

alot of basic info
Alot of general info howver what's missing is actual examples of things like a will, or a trust, or other steps to take, or their examples. The book has general info that may lead you however the follow thru is lacking.

Wonderful resource
We have 3 special needs kiddos. Finding appropriate advice on how to provide for them should something happen to us is a daunting task. This weeds through all of the massive amounts of information and puts everything in plain terms.

Tedious
This may be an informative book, but not an easy read. I seem finding it tedious.
