Sofia the First: Ready to Be a Princess

First, a disclaimer. I'm a 60 year old working class male; not exactly the target demographic.That said, I didn't find anything objectionable about Sofia the First, and for the most part found it reasonably entertaining, which is pretty good for a Disney production.The stories are interesting, the characters a mix of personalities that make the narrative flow fairly believably and the pacing is well done. The writers are apparently taking the characters seriously as actual people and aren't forcing them into reactions that go against their established personalities.On the downside, each episode does have a musical production number where a character launches into a song and dance. That's unnatural and a bit jarring, and the songs range from fairly decent to totally forgettable, and a few that are totally lame.I bought the region 2 disk with the Italian soundtrack. In most cases, the local soundtrack uses artists that match the original English voices fairly well. The Italian Sofia, on the other hand, doesn't sound much like the English Sofia, but her voice is still energetic and well played. I can't fault her performance. It's a good voice, but definitely different.
