Not a bad holder
Love this holder. Its not the most sturdy thing and after some set up issues on my end this thing is fantastic. I do not reccomend doing a lot of removing and replacing but it does a great job keeping my pad where I can see what I need to. Just be careful not to over tighten. With it being mostly plastic, it will crack.

Awesome, and very easy to use and adjust.
Easy to clip on holds pretty well unless your tablet like mine has a nylon hard case then you have to be careful. (Slippery). But if you don't have that all enclosed hard case you will be very happy with this. I usually end up using my phone because it doesn't weigh a quarter of my tablet even with its hard shell case and is held fairly tight as well. Adjusts well and I haven't broken it yet. Only thing they could do to improve the design would be to make the gripping tabs about 2-3 mm bigger.

Does the job
This mic stand clamp gets the job done. And for the price it works ok. The only issue I have is the clamp that attaches to the mic stand is plastic. And it will eventually loosen and/or fail. So do not over tighten this to the stand or you WILL break it! This comes from experience as this is my 2nd purchase of this item, since the first one broke after about a year of use. I gig 3-5 nights per week regularly in different locations, so this was a good buy for me. Yes I could probably buy a more expensive metal one with better quality parts, but for me this works fine.

OK for home use.
OK for the money, OK for home use. Not sturdy enough for professional gigging. The device has three parts: 1.) the shaft jaws 2.) the tablet holder, 3.) the universal jointJAWSThe jaws are tightened with a plastic cap that could snap if you over tighten it. If that happens, everything will fall to the ground. The jaws are not suitable for clamping on the lower shaft of a mike stand. They will not hold securely, and the tiniest bump will cause it to let go and fall. The jaws fit the upper shaft of a mike stand nicely, but the hard plastic does not offer a slip resistant enough grip. The unit could slide down the shaft until it hits the mike stand clutch. The bolt used is 3/32". If they could upgrade that to 1/4" and use a cap with a metal insert or nut I would give this product another star, and declare it suitable to professional use.The jaws fit a boom shaft nicely, but the hard plastic of the jaws will not give a slip proof grip to prevent the unit from slipping around to face downwards on a horizontal boom. The slippage problems might be fixable by putting some athletic or rubber tape on the shaft at the attachment point. Liquid tape, applied to the jaws, or a small sheet of rubber may also work.TABLET CLAMP.It is relatively easy to separate the tablet holder from the Universal joint. The makes transport and attachment easier FWIW.The 2 part clamping mechanism seems to work well. You open up the jaws - insert your tablet - then push down the middle part of the clamp to tension the springs doing the holding. The parts that come into contact with your tablet are lined with rubber and get a good grip. (Too bad they didn't do the same for the shaft jaws - I might have given the another star.)The jaws open to 7.25 inches, but you can stretch them to a maximum of 8.25 inches.I was able to fit my iPad with keyboard case into the holder fairly securely, but I don't recommend that, as the holder seems to work better without anything between it and the tablet. Also, your tablet might flop around within the keyboard cover. Regular covers, sans the keyboard, may work better.UNIVERSAL JOINTThere is good adjust-ability for getting to your desired angle of viewing. This joint can rotate 360 degrees around its axis and tilt 90 degrees from its axis. The plastic ring nut is large and easy to adjust and should be able to handle several pounds without slipping (If you can make the shaft jaws secure - see above.)

I was in the market for an inexpensive iPad stand and ended up borrowing this same product from a friend. It does exactly what it's supposed to do! It feels sturdy at every angle and the locking mechanism really tightens up on the iPad which keeps it secure. I like the ball joint, it makes it simple to loosen and adjust on the fly. I clip it to a mic stand for performances and it saves me having to lug a music stand around! It's also one of the few I've found that can support the 12.9 iPad Pro, especially at this price. Check it out!

The gripping mechanism on this item is better designed than most and may be the reason for ...
I have a iPad that keeps falling on the floor and have been searching for a decent contraption to hold the iPad up. I've spent $100 and gone through 4 products without success. The biggest problem is that all the options available are made out of cheap plastic from China. The gripping mechanism on this item is better designed than most and may be the reason for the higher price but it is certainly not worth $20. A fair price for this item is $5 or less. It's the same cheap plastic material. The gripping mechanism is plastic. No matter how hard you tighten is it will sliding up and down and around any decent metal mic stand. I even took my tennis handle wrap to see if it would be tacky enough for the grip to work properly. It sort of did but for $20 I'm very unhappy that I'm having to gerry rig.Can someone please design a proper iPad holder? None on the market.

WORKS VERY WELL USING IT FOR GIGGING AND SHOWS
WORKS FINE BUT SOME TABS AND PARTS BREAK OFF WITHOUT AFFECTING USABILITY SO IT IS OK WITH A FEW MINOR DEFECTS THAT DO NOT SEEM TO HURT USING IT. WE WILL SEE IN THE LONG RUN.

Only for Top Post or Boom Arm
I just got this so durability is something I can't review...It seems well made though. As long as you want to connect this to small size tubing like the top of a standard Mic stand. It holds my Kindle Fire HD 10" perfectly. I wouldn't think it could go much bigger. It fits the narrow side only, but is totally rotatable so it can do landscape OR portrait that way. Just know that it won't fit on the bottom of a standard Mic stand.
