Wolf Tooth Aluminum Single Speed Cog Gold

Wolf Tooth stuff is cool.

To achieve the chain alignment I wanted required some shims I fabricated from thin aluminum. Taht commented should not be considered negative. Rather, it is fact-of-life when when modifying any product. Aside from lowering the gear ration, my goal, I found the wolf ran smother without clunky noise.

This Cog mushroomed out and deformed significantly in short time. It only survived a few easy break in rides and 1 day of climbs before it was so deformed the chain was getting stuck on it. Everything was cleaned and well lubricated. I absolutely do not recommend these cogs. Everything else I’ve had from wolftooth has been great but I’ll never buy a cog from them again. Check out Boone titanium cogs if you want a quality cog that’s made in the USA.

Great single speed gear, worked really well but because it’s aluminum you have to watch out with steel chains, if you ride like hell a steel chain can rip teeth off of the gear

The actual design was different than the picture. The actual design was just a bunch of round holes drilled vs. the cool design in the picture.

This cog is beautiful! One hiccup happened when I ordered the item, I received an empty envelope. But it was immediately corrected and received the item two days later! Amazing customer service!

Not what I expected on the picture, lt’ll do the job and great material on this cog I can tell it would last long:)
