Good balance and tone
A quality bow for the price. I've been a user of various carbon fiber bows for many years, mostly bass bows. This was my first viola bow. It was one of the best packed bows I've ever seen, with plenty of protection in the shipping tube. Out of the package I could feel a comfortable balance, not too tip heavy, and lends to a good spiccato near mid bow. The black hair is clean and seemingly good quality, I have not had any loose hairs from aggressive playing after the first week of heavy use. I paired it with a new Carbon Composite 5-string viola, and it pulls a very resonant full sound from low open c to the upper E string's high register.I'm a string teacher in Northern California and have been using this for classroom demonstration. While many of us teachers will trash talk string-gear from online stores among ourselves, I will defend and endorse this line of bows.

Decent Starter Bow
This Is A decent starter bow for students. For the money spent, it is of enough quality that it should last a season (maybe two) of a student playing. As with most bows the first use, some strings did fray and/or fall out. But, did not seem to be too much to worry about as it has not frayed / fallen out since this initial use. It has served me well as a replacement bow until such time as I feel it necessary to buy a more expensive bow.

Good valued carbon fiber bow for half the price than at music stores.
I bought this for my 14 inch viola. My viola was bought used (a Karl Knilling) and came with a pernambuco wood bow that needed some serious rehairing. For what I paid, it didn't seem worth it to rehair and for the price, this bow is pretty good. I brought it with me to viola lesson, and my teacher immediately was skeptical about the black horse hair. But after applying some rosin (I use Jade and Pirastro Gold), it seemed to do the job. Weight wise was okay but I do wish it was shorter because I have short arms. Even though my 14" Viola is about the size of a 4/4 violin and I use a 4/4 violin shoulder rest, the bow is a few inches longer than the original bow my viola came with. After an hour of playing, my arm gets really tired. Because of this, I've gone back to my original bow when I have to play my viola for an extended period. My teacher helped fix my old bow. In all, this is definitely a great value for a carbon fiber bow. It's at least half the price I've seen at local music stores, even at their sale price.

Very, Very Cool Bow!
Awesome bow! At first I was skeptical if there was in fact any difference between a black horse haired bow and a “normal” horse haired bow. After trying it out, I can say that there definitely is!I’m the violist in my church’s stringed quartet. For the first time I feel like I can make my viola stand out or blend in at will. It is sooo easy to control the tone; I almost feel like I’m cheating using this bow! It can be subtle when I desire, or it can take off with a unique “wild” tone. The only thing I would add is to be careful with what resin you use. I purchased the low dust yellow resin sold by WOGOD. It works well, but unfortunately I have to re-resin the bow after every other song. Kind of annoying, but that’s not the bow’s fault; it’s the resin.Overall, couldn’t ask for a better bow for the price. The next step up would probably start at around $200.

Not Reliable
My daughter is a beginning viola student, she practices everyday. She has an exceptionally talented orchestra professor and private tutor who encourage proper handling of all her viola implements, so mishandling is untenable. This bow held resin beautifully and produced a wonderful sound. However, after three months of regular use, the hair burst loose from the frog. Conveniently after the return window closed, this bow is completely useless.

I'm not an advanced player but I really love this bow
I'm not an advanced player but I really love this bow. I wish more bows came with black horsehair. Because of how thin it is I think it requires a bit more tension than my other thicker carbon bow and that is something might have to play with that to get better stability. Other than that, its well made for the price and pretty much the only bow like it on Amazon. The leather grip is real and has a nice texture to it. I recommend it.

Heavy
I’ve been using this for many months. About 8. Yet it always felt like I was learning techniques slower. Because of that, I tried my friends bow, that’s also a violist. It was white bow hair and much lighter. I’m not saying the bow hair is the problem, but the bow itself (just used color to differentiate it). This bow is good with quality and all, but the frog weights 2 times more than the average bow. My teacher suggested putting weight at the tip but that would still make it heavy despite the balance. My arms aren’t very big and my wrist is small so it wouldn’t work for me. Because of the weight I’ve actually struggled to play in the normal bow hold position, even though I’m an intermediate player. I think I’ll be getting a new bow now. This is great if your arms are wider though, or if you’re a male, genetics really play a role in playing an instrument.

GREAT VIOLA BOW
Received a beautiful bow, such a pleasure to use. Nice balance, super responsive. I was curious about the black hair, I love it - an instant upgrade to my viola. No shedding, easy to tighten screw etc.Using this with my 14" viola, happy with length of this bow.I use Bernardel rosin - good coverage from the first time.(Safe shipping in PVC tube with packing, arrived in pristine condition.)Trustworthy producer of amazing bows, I have one for the violin also, equally delighted.

Recomendado.
