How is it for producing a spark (using back edge against ferro rod)? Is it a 90° angle or is the top edge of knife slightly rounded?

You will not be able to produce a spark from a ferro rod using the spine of the knife due to the coating, which is with any knife with same type of protective coating. Has to be bare metal so I recommend using the blade side at the end by the choil and handle. This knife if heavy, robust, sharp and can take the abuse. Other “bushcraft” type knives have little ferro grooves designed into the choil for striking a ferro rod, this one doesn’t have that. Also, stay away from none carbon type blades, they don’t won’t produce sparks. D2 steel has carbon and stainless steel mixture so will spark a rod.

I've wouldn't baton with anything d2 unless you're trying to turn one good knife into two useless ones.
