loved this book. great food recipes and some fantastic drink recipes. great 'pub' like recipes

We love this book, we received as a gift a couple of years ago and we bought one for a Christmas gift this year. Recipes are fun, delicious abs doable.

This is a cute book. I bought it because I really like to bake and am always looking for new recipes. The main baking portion is really just a basic vanilla recipe and a basic chocolate recipe, with guidelines for how to add other flavors. There's also a pie dough recipe, and throughout the book there are a few different pies. There's also a section for dessert toppings, like caramel sauce, marshmallow sauce, etc. I'm sure these are delicious (I haven't tried them yet), but a book made up of these basics is pointless in the internet age. If I wanted to make a good standard chocolate cupcake or a caramel sauce, I could google them in 2 seconds. The non-basic content is too sparse. I therefore would not suggest this as a baking book. The best part of the book by far is the cocktails and their suggested food pairings. These are fun and retro. They make me want to throw a retro party. But will I ever get to doing it? Probably not. That's the only context I could see making many of these recipes. When I bought this book, it was $3 for some reason. I felt like it was worth the money because I was having fun brainstorming ideas. I would feel ripped off paying much more than that.

As an amateur writer/reviewer with a strong writing passion I admit that I have to credit my current job for inspiring me with creative ideas to look at kindlebooks such as this one that is Butter & Scotch; Recipes From Brooklyn’s Favorite Bar & Bakery by Allison Kave and Keavy Landreth. What also adds to this kindlebook being worth it are some of the recipes that are included in it; recipes for some of their core pie crusts,a recipe for peanut butter frosting, dark chocolate frosting, and lavender frosting,salted chocolate caramel cupcakes, chocolate raspberry cupcakes, graham cracker crust,ice cream toppings,and more.
