Mine is silver with a stainless steel interior.

What is the maximum size dinner plate that this microwave will accommodate

I was wondering that too, although I had to get smaller dinner plates as the "normal"or huge dinner plates don't even fit in my cupboard never mind the microwave. We're meant to be eating smaller portions but most plates are huge!

For the 800w manual with knob (not digital) if the power is cut and then turned on again quite a bit later, will it resume where it was?

Yes,the timer is`nt clockwork, once the door is opened the timer stops,so, If the power is killed the timer stays put, surprised manufacturers are still making analogue microwaves as It`s near impossible to set the timer for 30 seconds.
