Primo 776 Ash Tool for any Primo Grill

I run a BBQ blog and I tend to put a lot of miles on my smokers. If you’ve got a Primo or other Kamado I’ve gotta say this is one of the cheapest tools to put in your toolkit.If you’re vacuuming yours out or cleaning another way then you will like this. It hasn’t bent and is a great to lift/flip grates.

When I bought my  Oval XL Charcoal Grill in  this was a recommended purchase. I had no idea how essential it was. My only complaint is that, given how perfectly it does its job and how much the Primo Oval XL costs, it should have just come with the unit - but that is perhaps an issue for the review on the grill itself. In any case, don't think about it, just get it - if you have a Primo grill your life will be needlessly harder if you don't get this.

It works well for removing the fallen ashes during a long smoke without interfering too much with the temperature. Before, I had to pull out the charcoal box and sweep out the ashes using my welder's gloves. This ash tool solves this problem by allowing me to reach under the charcoal box without disturbing the fire. This is not for a fireplace, but a side firebox. It is too short to use in a fireplace, which is why there are some negative reviews.

It does what is is supposed to, but it's still hard to get all of the ash out of the grill. This is more the fault of the grill rather than the tool though.

The handle could have been an inch or two longer, to assist in reaching the back edges of the Primo XL fire box, to clean out the ashes. The "handle" end has a metal Burr that I had to file down, as it kept snagging on my skin during use.

Not too much to get excited about. It is an ash tool to pull ash out of the cooker. That is what it does. Does the job well and is well designed. Definitely makes cleaning out the ash easier.

Awesome tool for my Primo!!!! I used a coat hanger for a long time, this tool makes it so much easier
