SprayMax 2K Topcoat Black High Gloss | 2K Gloss Black Spray Paint

I used on my Ford Expedition wheels when I painted them black , it turned out amazing with this clear coat. Easy to use, best value I found, sprayed on super easy and even, and once it was done you can tell the clear coat is going to be durable and last!

This 2-part paint is very cool. Simple to use, but you have to be completely ready to spray once you break the bubble. Do not count on touching up after the first application--as you get to the last 20% of the can, it will start spitting (like any other spray can, i'm sure) and you won't like the results. I was painting a vintage motorcycle frame, one piece off, several pieces (swingarm) still on and taped out. The can worked fine, finish is nice (if not a direct match for 54-year old original) but it will do till I strip the whole thing down and power coat it. All in all, a good product.

The finish is far superior to regular spray paint. Keep in mind you have about 24 hours to use it all once you push the bottom button. It does do some pretty good self leveling as long as you spray when it isn't too warm out. Do it in the shade on a cool morning. It won't level drips or runs so apply in thin coats. Shake the can regularly when using it, about every pass, otherwise it will start throwing globs out. Then let the item set for several hours before touching the it. After a day or two the finish will be very hard. That is the difference between drying and curing. Drying means you can touch it without smudging, curing means the process is complete and the finish is hard.

After preparing the surface and sanding it down with six hundred grit sandpaper. Mind you, this was already a painted surface, and the material is plastic. Alright. After reading previous reviews on this single stage paint, I initially did light a light coat on the first pass and medium Coats on the second and third pass the paint came out extremely gritty. And did not lay down well at all, I end up having to send the body panels off to a body shop to get them repainted,As this product did not lay down well. It ended up costing me more as it would have been cheaper if ihad not used this product at all. Very unhappy

I needed to repaint the sunroof trim on my car due to clear coat pealing. I decided to give this top coat paint a try. It did have orange peel after it dried but it was not bad at all. Just follow the directions and you will get great results. I was able to wet sand, cut and polish the paint to a mirror like finish easily. We’ll see how long it lasts but it seems to be a very durable surface. Also other reviews said the color looks dark grey. I can confirm it is dark grey but it’s very hard to notice a difference. It matches the sunroof glass and that’s good enough for me.

It doesn’t seem to lay out smoothly. I got noticeable orange peel and you have to burn through a lot of paint to sand it smooth. The spray also sputtered a lot near the end of the can. I’m probably going to have to repaint my tank because this gave a very uneven finish. For what this costs I feel the spray pattern should be better. I would go with a different brand when I redo the tank.

Easy to use and follow the instruction. Paint is durable but if trying to match existing black paint, good luck. In the light appears to be dark charcoal gray but low light looks black. Otherwise, it is excellent paint.
