I read that if you have sensitive skin and need an eye mask you should get a silk one. My skin reacted negatively to the silk eye mask I bought within seconds. I bought this eye mask hoping that the mix of cotton and bamboo would be tolerated by my skin and it works great! I have used it for several nights now and my skin is still doing well. I highly recommend this eye mask - especially if you have sensitive skin.

The strap does not bind tightly and it's very comfortable around the eye sockets. Also the cotton cover is soft on the skin, not rough or itchy. I'm sold on this one!

TL;DR: not as good as original. Smaller with less foam. Creases across eyes. Overall cheaper looking but somehow more expensive. 3 stars cause it basically does it's job and is comfortable if you're a very deep sleeper that doesn't move.I recently went on a hunt for the best sleep mask to gift for a friend - she's about to start a job that requires a lot of night shifts, and a sleep mask to help her out when she's sleeping during the day is a must. I came across a review in the NYT that recommended Alaska Bear products (admittedly it was their silk non-contoured sleep mask, but hey). I got her the original contoured mask in the cream color and, when it arrived, desperately wanted to try one out for myself.I went back on Amazon and found that oh hey - there's an upgraded version! It's cut a little different but people gave it good reviews. So I bought both with the intention of only keeping one. This "upgraded" version is easily the loser, and I'm returning it.Even before seeing the mask, the packaging for this upgraded version was less nice. The original came in a nice box, looked lovely for gifting. This new mask comes in a cheap thing and is wrapped in plastic within as well. I will say, it did come with ear plugs, which the original did not.Compared to the original, this mask is smaller. I have a small face and so I thought ok, maybe this'll still work. But the memory foam cushion that creates the contour shape (as the front of the mask is perfectly flat) was also smaller - not as much loft, and not as cushy. I loosened up the strap a bit and put it on but immediately noticed 2 things:1. Because it's smaller, it doesn't fit around my nose as well and lets in (marginally) more light. I had this on in a lit room so maybe it's fine if you're sleeping in a room that's otherwise pretty dark, but I have better, cheaper masks (including the original Alaska Bear contoured sleep mask) that block out pretty much all light.2. Even with the strap loosened, the mask buckled lengthwise down the middle and created a crease/fold that pushed against my eyelids. Loosening the strap further fixed this problem, but then when I laid down, the mask slipped off with even the slightest movement.I'll post pictures with the comparison soon.

I love love love this mask!I have sensitive skin and other masks irritate the skin on my eyelids, but this one doesn’t. It is so spacious inside, yet creates a perfect seal that keeps the light out.It’s incredibly comfortable, lightweight, and works greatHighly recommend!!

Love this sleeping mask, best one I’ve found. It super cool and comfortable does not slip while sleeping. Block out all the light and the cups extra padding makes the super comfy on the eyes. If your thinking about them as your purchase go for it won’t be disappointed.

This mask is very comfortable. I have never used a mask before and thought it would be uncomfortable over an 8 hour sleeping period. I was pleasantly surprised. The mask does not press your eyes or lids. There is a little light leakage in the nose area but it is not alot. I am very satisfied.

IT WORKS I GET A LITTLE LIGHT FROM MY NOSE BUT OVER ALL ITS GOOD

These block out a lot of light, and the head band is very soft. The molded eye cups keep them away from my eyes. These are the best sleep masks!
