Ziyad Date Paste is wonderful to work with, easy to use. It is unsweetened so the flavor of the dates speak for themselves and will not change the flavor of your recipe.

I used this date paste for ma’amoul cookies and the texture of the paste was excellent for mixing and filling, and it’s really nice in the final product. It’s quite soft and moist. Recommended.

If you want the ease and smoothness of pre-pureed dates, this is the way to go. Makes beautiful and delicious ma'amouls.

The qauality is great

I am of Arab descent we use baking dates to bake specific cookies called Ma'amoul which is an Easter cookie. You can’t go wrong with products from Ziyad. If your middle eastern or even if you love to cook or bake their products are top-notch.

The date paste was delivered timely and with an expiration date more than a year and a half in advance. I used these for making Ka'ak with Ajwa and maamoul. For reviews that mention this is sticky, stiff, and difficult to work with, yes it is, because it is just pure dates semi-mashed. It's much easier than pitting the dates yourself. To make the pastries, I add a little olive oil and cinnamon, cardamom, and nutmeg, and is a huge time saver, and easier to work with. Dates themselves are not inexpensive, so I find the price to be fair. Ziyad products are difficult to find locally, so I would definitely buy this again.

I made date pinwheel cookies for Christmas. They were delicious but pretty pricey.
