I used these to decorate a fence for Christmas and they were bright and held up well even in the cold. The timer function worked as described without fail. Nice lights and would buy again. Please note battery life was good and remember battery life will also depend on the temperature as well if being used outside especially in the cold. I would buy these again.

They are very bright with vibrant bold color. It would be great if there were a few more blinking options but I'm still pretty satisfied. I didn't check the timer explanation before purchasing ( was thinking I could program with my own custom light schedule). This was my own mistake. After setting them up I discovered the '6hr on/ 18 hr off' auto schedule. I'm OK with that. For the price, I'm very pleased with these lights & would recommend to anyone who wants a lot of bright color , but aren't able to use electric plug-in lights. We live in apartment, so not allowed to have electric cords running under the door. The cord & battery box is super easy to hide.

For those interested in if this set actually works and how it works, the answer is: yes it does work. It's not the brightest, being LED, but looks good. The lights lasted for a whole month on three AA batteries. I was very impressed by this. You have the option of setting a number of different light patterns by pressing the selection button. The timer, as it were, is baked into the unit. There is no dial or mechanism for setting it. It's activated by turning the lights on. It will run for six hours and then turn off, to come back on 18 hours later. If you want to change when the lights come on, you have to start them at a different time and it will follow this same 6 hours on and 18 hours off pattern. As far as water proof, I had no issues with the light string, but I did take precautions and put the actual battery/control unit in a sandwich bag and sealed it from rain. I don't know if it was necessary, but thought it best since the unit would have zero cover from rain. Overall, I highly recommend this set. It worked far better than I expected.

I used these lights outdoors this Christmas season and they worked flawlessly. There is no remote or timer so you must turn these lights on/off manually but they worked fine in my yard with no electrical outlet. The batteries lasted the entire month of December with no issues or appreciable dimming of the lights.

These lights are very bright. Love the timer!! Didn’t think it had a timer until it went out by itself and came on by itself the next day. I turned them on at 4:00 and they turned off at 10:00. The next day they came on at 4:00. Should explain a little better in the directions that’s it automatic and you don’t need to actually set a timer. Bought two sets. Recommend!

First, I opened the box and 5 or 6 of the bulb covers were rolling around loose in the box and had to be reattached. Several others were not securely attached and needed to be snugged up. As I put them in the tree, more are falling off. Quality on that could be better. These are colored bulb covers that attach over corresponding colored LED bulbs, so you have to turn on the lights to match up the covers. The covers are in 2 parts: a green clip base to attach to the strand and a screw on colored “bulb.”Next, what was sent in the plastic Amazon mailer envelope is a brown cardboard box (no photo art or anything that looks like shelf-ready packaging), the box has a white sticker the size of a postage stamp with Amazon’s item numbers on it. There are no instructions at all. Then the lights are cooked inside. Period. That’s what you get.The battery box seems to seal up well to keep out the elements. I had read in the description when I ordered that several strands can be linked together. I have no idea how you’d do that. The amount of cording from battery pack to start of lights is good. The only way I knew how to program these was to guess. The description on Amazon had said they’re programmable with a timer. Well, sort of. On the battery case is written 1-9 labeled with words like “flash” and “slow fade.” What you have to figure out and should’ve been on instructions that aren’t provided is these 9 options run in sequence when you first plug in, each running a 30-second or so cycle. But you’ll want to choose which program you want to run. After you get your lights on the tree, press the button until you reach that flash pattern, then stop. That’s the program you’ll be using. The lights will come on for 6 hours, then off for 18 hours. Every night until you remove batteries or reprogram to option #9 which is “off.” Again, instructions might have helped.

I didn't want my electric bill to go up this holiday so I ordered these and then re-ordered them 3 more times. They work fantastic and they have a timer so they go on and off on their own. Highly recommend

These lights look good and so far have worked reliably outside. Batteries last a long time and the lights turn themselves off after a few hours. They will turn themselves back on at the same time if not manually turned off. Worth the money!

I was concerned that I would burn through batteries but just the opposite was true. Had them on the balcony and in some trees for over 3 weeks turned on about 6-7 hours a day, never needed to change the batteries.
