It is exactly what I expected it to be. It functions well and seems to be well balanced, it’s about as loud as a fan at max rpm. The listing is a bit misleading, if says 20ml which is just wrong, get 10ml standard conical tubes. 15ml will technically fit but the lid will not close completely because they are too tall. 10ml fit perfectly If you’re looking at this price point centrifuge, just go ahead and get it.

I have purchased this machine twice. The first machine made noises; the tubes were balanced something smelled burned. The second machine, the inside caved in and was unable to spin. Amazon advised me to purchase from a different seller.

This item only lasted a year not sure why it broke just stop spinning not sure why

I have had this a year and it has not fail me. It works every time and the quality is amazing for the price.

The centrifuge stopped working within 5 minutes of being used, and could not be restarted. It vibrates wildly on any surface you place it, the sound is loud, but most importantly, it does not work. No value for money or durability. Had to be returned.

Barely within my budget, I had high hopes for this machine. But instead of an operating manual, it had a single sheet of paper, with the briefest instructions, a note of max speed and g-force, and a suggestion for performing regular maintenance and replacing the motor's brushes after every 500 hours of use. There were no diagrams, or specifications for the brushes, nor where to get them. It does specify paired centrifuge tubes in opposite slots on the turntable, with a maximum mass deviation of less than 1 gram. The turntable does not have metal buckets, but rather short sleeves, which hold the tubes at a constant spin angle, for the insertion of the six plastic tubes that come with the unit. Therefore I would not recommend filling the tubes to the top. There are no measurements shown on the tubes, so I would recommend filling them very carefully from a carefully measured 25 mL graduated cylinder, and be certain not to overload the tubes, because they're only rated for 20 mL maximum, and these centrifuge tubes have NO CAP! So be careful when loading them into the turntable to avoid spilling solutions into the machine. I did purchase a separate set of plastic centrifuge tubes, and a set of glass tubes as well, and you can read about the problems I had with those, in their separate Reviews. Essentially, the plastic ones fit only part way into the turntable's sleeves, and their caps are NOT screw caps, but press-on. And the glass ones, don't fit the sleeves at all! I would suggest the manufacturer of the unit provide a real operations & maintenance manual, and centrifuge tubes with screw-on caps and actually conical bottoms, rather than the rounded bottoms of the present tubes, and with measurements clearly marked on the tubes. Also, the ad suggest that it is a microcentrifuge, but the hinged cap microcentrifuge tubes that I have do NOT fit into the turntable's sleeves, nor inside the tubes provided. Noise level is quite low...and somewhat soothing, which may help mitigate the frustration I have with it's other characteristics...

I have used this machine for the first time today and it is smoking. Return window has passed. What a load of rubbish. DO NOT BUY!!!!
