This is a very nice little pump
This is a very nice little pump. There are others available with similar specifications and performance. I purchased 3 of these from 3 different vendors. I test the flow rate and mechanical efficiency of each one. They were, as expected all about the same. This pump had one feature that made it the best.As shown in the photo I tested with a static head of 6 foot. measured the flow rate by filling a half gallon jug. All took about 70 seconds or 25 Gallons per hour. I measured the current and voltage as each was filling the jug, and the wattage was 3.84W (12.4 V x 310 mA) . Curious enough is the wattage decreased as the static head increased. With no static head the wattage was the same as the rated 4.2 Watts. The reason I like this one the best is the wire. It is the longest wire and it has a nice sealed, weather resistant, connector. The others came with short unterminated wires where I had to solder on the 2.5mm jack for the power supply. This is a nice pump that pack a punch, is mechanically and electrically efficient, and its actual performance matches those specified by this vendor. Both the static head 25 gph @ 6 foot, and wattage 3.84 were very good. And the weather proof connector was a nice touch whe compared to the other vendors.

Broke the barb before getting to use it
Didn’t look like the photo shown here but that wasn’t a problem. Was connecting a hose with a clamp and it broke the barb. I didn’t get to use it. I would not recommend this product if you expect it to last.

Works good, very compact
Works good, very compact, I took one star off because when I first powered it up it had a very high pitched squeal, like bearings not lubricated. When I put it underwater the squeal stopped. I have not been able to repeat the squeal, but it is worrisome. Time will tell if there is a problem

Works fine in water
Works fine in water, but we had it out of water for 2 seconds and it broke. Be careful with it and it will probably be fine.

Not impressed
I bought this pump for our pet water dish. I cut a piece of plastic foam to fit over the intake and did away with the awkward filter box in the dish. This pump shoots a stream about 18" high when it's unrestricted. I had to divert some of the flow to get what I needed for the water dish and put a riser pipe/hose on it. Worked perfect for about a week running 24/7 then got progressively noisy. Still working but almost too much noise. It's now been running about 3 weeks. These are rated at 30,000 hours which should be over 3 years running continuous. Like most imported things of this type....it doesn't last. Cheap to buy but what does that get you if it fails.

PC water cooling.
I am using this pump as part of my water cooled pc. The project was finished in Nov of 2014 and is still running as of this review Aug 2015. The pump is usually running 24/7 and is not submersed. It is pushing water through 5 ft of 5/16 tubing with 18 inches of rise, a water block, and a radiator. It is not to noisy and has good enough flow for my needs. Great alternative to overpriced pc pumps. If anyone is wondering I made my own block and used a heater core for the radiator it cools my overclocked FX 8350 better than either brand name air cooler's I tried.

Great for PC water cooling
I ordered two of these to pump through 2x240mm rads and 2 blocks. The two pumps paired side by side in series pumps a good amount of water, they don't seem to struggle at all. I used 3/8 ID (inner diameter) tubing with the pumps. Although it goes on loosely, a hose clamp tighten down will ensure that it won't leak (not zip ties, but hose clamps) I originally had a glacer 240L loop, but the pump failed in the cpu block. I just unscrewed the screws and removed the impeller to remove the unnecessary restriction, and then put the block back together. Works perfect.

Did NOT work
Didn't work right out of the box. It gurgled a little, but never pumped, even with the inlet and outlet at the same level. Tried "priming" it with water in the inlet tube, but still nothing. Was using a charged 12v battery with more than adequate current capacity to run the motor. Sent it back.
