Wigwam Unisex El-Pine Warm Wool Heavyweight Socks

Let me start by stating that nearly all of my socks are wool. I must also state that I am rough on my clothing (work in an office and do the typical yard work). Most of my socks have been with me for many years, simply because they hold up and remain very comfortable. I purchased a pair of the El Pine socks in Feb 2015. Just after the first years, the material began sloughing off from the inside. Now, my last pair has massive holes under the arch and between the ball of the toe and toes of all places (no pressure at these locations)--except the threads that seemed to bind the wool (see attached photo). I do not like writing negative reviews, unless it will save you pain (and money). I would not recommend purchasing these socks. Wool is a durable natural product... the workmanship or quality of this product is not. Spend your money elsewhere. Cheers.

Bought 3 pair. I opened the first one and put them on. I felt like there was something in the sock. The seem that runs along the toes had some really hard places from where they were sewed. They were not comfortable. I had bought 3 pair from Cabella that were similar and no seem. Loved them and wear them all the time. Should have re-ordered them. I will now. The material on the Cabella socks was the same except they were way softer then these Wigwam socks. I don't or would not recommend them. No I do not work for Cabella's.Just saying.

I bought 2 pair and once I got them I immediately ordered two more. I have trouble with my feet and ankles itching when I wear cotton socks most of which have some kind of elastic in them through out the sock. I bought these oversize wool socks so the elastic they might have spun in the wool would not bind the sock; and I cut off the tops that obviously have elastic in them.Now I have wonderfully cushioned warm socks that I walk in around inside without shoes as well as wearing them outside.I wear them to bed too.

I wanted to like these socks; they look cozy and I bet they are really warm. And they appear to be a quality construction. But I found them extremely uncomfortable, itchy and not very soft. Perhaps this is just what wool is supposed to feel like. I don't own any other wool socks to compare to. But I find them uncomfortable and prefer my synthetic thick cushy socks. Also, I didn't wear them enough to find out but I believe the other reviews that found heel wear. There isn't that much material/cushioning underneath the foot and all it would take is a little bit wearing away to have a problem.

I actually got these for foot cramps, and wear them to bed. These keep my feet way warmer than with regular socks, and the cramping problem is much better. Some tiny scratchiness, but it hasn't been any problem. Has not shrunk even though I used them in the washer + dryer. But now I let them drip dry. I find myself gravitating toward these over the Carhartt socks. When I wear them outside in cold weather under boots, it really keeps the feet warm.

Purchased for many years. Durable and reliable always! Only material that keeps my feet dry and odor free. Small amount of nylon for extra durability doesn't cause sweating. Only problem is high cost.

These are itchy and they have a seam that's uncomfortable on the toes. I wish I hadn't bought these. I was trying to replace my Eddie Bauer extra warm socks that lasted 15 years but just recently wore out. These wigwams were a disappointment. I wish I hadn't wasted so much money on these.

Great socks that keep my feet warm. I had cold feet which would cramp unmercifully when cold. These socks are comfortable and warm. Buying more pairs. I don't think you can wrong with these socks and they are made in the USA.
