Worked perfect
I got this kit for a clone saw that was run without oil. Everything worked good. You need to be skilled enough with small 2 stroke engines to install these parts correctly. If you put it together with the rings improperly placed in relation to the pin in the ring groove or put the piston in facing the wrong way. Then yes, your rebuild will fail.

Piston ring got hung in cylinder ports inside cylinder will need to be touched up befor use also not to sure about metal of cylinder seems to be less durable than oem,but just my thoughts mybe i just got a bad one i guess

Know what your doing.
If you know what your doing and know the ins and outs of a small 2 cycle this is a great top end. I did a little mild porting to get rid of casting flash and port match the exhaust. Checked and filed ring end gap. Buffed sharp edges off the piston skirt. Used good gasket coat on the base for no air leaks. And tuned the saw rich and mixed my gas rich for the first few tanks. Absolutely no issues. Very high compression, runs flawless. Pulls a 36 inch full chisel chain through hardwood with ease.

Installing the kit was straightforward, but my saw was being such a pain to get the carburator tuned to work with the kit that I ended up just aggressively porting the stock head
