Great little unit
We searched for a long time b4 selecting this unit. I read all the reviews and came to the conclusion to try a pioneer. Installation was a little bit of a challenge going through my block wall. hooking up the unit was pretty straightforward as this is not my first one. I had a vacuum pump from O’Reilly auto parts that Thomas Addison probably used. That was a mistake. Did not detect a small leak in a joint. Had to recharge the unit after fixing the flare. and I must say that the unit has been working flawlessly for the last three months. Our power bill has dropped by $40 and we only use it in our master bedroom to keep it cool down to 70° at night. We now leave the house at 76 all day long instead of turning it down to 73 at night. The unit is very quiet and have mounted the thermostat on the wall opposite the unit and it maintains a temperature within 1°. The fan does run constantly but it’s very quiet and it’s fine with us. We actually like that feature for what we use the unit for. We debated by a Mitsubishi because of the recommendation of a friend, but went with the pioneer because of the difference in price. Very happy with my decision.

Easy to install, good price, more powerful than I expected.
Installed this 9,000 BTU unit in a shed being converted to an art studio in the back yard. We're at the season in Michigan where we need both the heat and AC on different days and both work well with plenty of power for this 8x10 shed with high ceilings and no insulation. There is some latency of a minute or two when you shift modes between AC/Fan/Heat, but no big deal in our experience. I mounted the inside and outside unit myself, bought a 2.5" hole saw bit for my drill at Ace Hardware for $12 (to pass cords through the wall for the inner and outer unit); otherwise it was all standard tools. An electrician did the required separate circuit for the 110V unit. With no special skills I did the electrical hook-ups between the two units myself; the instructions are simple and easy to understand. Also contracted an HVAC guy to charge the system with refrigerant; took him 1.5 hours to do that, neatly coil the excess hose and tack everything to the outside wall. The shed had non-standard 15" distances between the studs, but the inside unit wall adaptor had all sorts of holes with different distances, so was easily able to make that fit. Mounted the outside unit about 20" off the ground on the rear exterior wall to keep it out of the snow. However, the footers for the unit are set for standard wall studs and are non-adjustable. In the attached picture, you can see I bolted a 2x4 to an existing stud in the shed and that worked for the lag screws mounting the bracket to the wall. The unit arrived on time, complete, and worked well once mounted. The mounting can be done by a normal guy with support from an HVAC tech for refrigerant and potentially electrician depending on where you mount it. Good product.

Customer service is 100% great
I bought two of these for my mother's tiny house. I would definitely recommend installing any mini-split system in a location that is easily accessible (inside and outside units). You will need to rinse out the filters regularly - a super-easy job if the indoor unit is in an easy-to-reach place. One of the units began to have issues (at just under 2 years old) and was throwing codes indicating an outdoor IPM module fault. I called tech support. They answered promptly, gave intelligible answers, and shipped out a new mother board right away. We paid a technician (Pioneer will email you a list of them, if you ask) to install the mother board but the compressor began groaning. After a few hours, it was clear that the unit was not cooling properly. I called tech support and they are sending out a whole new mini-split at no charge. Never any run-around when I call - just answers and solutions. I would purchase these again. Thank you, Pioneer!

silent and effective
Installed Pioneer 900 BTU, 115 V in my master bedroom. Had to wait some time for the delivery, don't know why since it's been manufactured i Miami area and was "in stock" when ordered. Almost no tracking possibility after placing order with Amazone,Imagine my disappointment when everything was in and I turned on the breaker, ..NOTHING' happening,,Checking power inside and outside, all seems fine. Try to call seller,---waiting ---waiting,--no answer..Went online and started chatting with Sean. Nice guy- and after checking volt DC and AC on the inside unit, we found a defect fuse on the board. Sean sent me a new one that I just installed and I am happy to report that all seems good with nice noise level and cold air... Now the window unit is coming out..I would have given one more star if phone service had worked and if the new board had been shipped "overnight" instead of 4 days..(Friday to Tuesday)

Great unit. Saves you money.
I have bought 4 of these in the last year. My electricity bill was about $800 a month during the summer due to my 4 ton AC unit running all day downstairs and upstairs.Instead, I bought 4 of these units and some solar panels. Now, my Cooling and heating costs are zero. I have this units running on solar and they turn on individually on the rooms when they are needed rather than running the whole house 4 ton unit when only one room was warm. The unit is quiet, was super easy to install. Without exaggeration, anyone can easily install it.I would suggest getting the Cielo Breez Smart Control unit on Amazon for about $70 so you can control you can control your mini splits from anywhere in the world. You can set up routines for heating and cooling within the app so your units turn on and off whenever you want. For example, if you are not home, the unit can be off but if you get home at a certain time, you can set it to start cooling or warming so it’s a perfect temperature when you get home. For me, it was a must, I like to be able to check all the room temperatures from my phone and have full control of the unit from thousands of miles away.
