I love this thing, just be aware of what it is, how it works, etc.
I love this Fuller Brush , just be aware of what it is, how it works, etc.I can definitely see & understand anyone who would have some frustration & confusion with this thing. It does need a bit of understanding, finesse, and realistic expectations.Let's start with what the Fuller Brush 17052 Electrostatic Carpet & Floor Sweeper - 9" IS:- Totally non-powered; ZERO electricity; batteries; none of it. 100% manually-powered.- Does have a single brush that rotates as you manually push +wheel it around the floor. The brush seems identical to what is inside a vacuum cleaner & spins around to help pick up debris, but again; THIS BRUSH IS **NOT** ELECTRIC IN ANY WAY. It's made of the same stiff, horse / boar-hair material that is usually on all vacuum cleaners.- It is very small & compact. I love the size, but also wish they would come out with an "XL" size as an option; maybe 1-2" bigger. Obviously the larger it becomes, the less maneuverable it becomes, heavier, etc. so it's a trade-off. But it is compact.- Easy to use (with some caveats, detailed later)- Quiet. Almost 100% quiet, again; because it is not electric. A friend was over & commented how it emits a really soothing sound & I agree. Just a soft wheeling, gently and pleasantly squeakish kind of sound. I like it. It is WAY quieter than the questest vacuum; you could absolutely use this while a baby or light sleeper is sleeping. In the same room, no less. Extremely quiet. And now, what this tool is NOT:- Vacuum.- Scrubber- Perfect- Flawless- Does not Instantly suck up everything in its path.First thing I want to say is our home is mostly hardwood floors. This Fuller brush / broom works so-so on hardwood, but it definitely works much better on carpet and soft surfaces, such as any of the area rugs / floor mats we have in our home, soft & squishy kitchen mats, etc. Works excellent (almost perfectly) on soft / carpeted surfaces like those. However, I still love this thing & am definitely keeping it.One trick I've discovered; for debris / crumbs / gunk that this broom / brush won't pick up immediately or seems to simply push / scoot out of the way instead of inhaling it;pick up the whole broom, put the exact center of the broom (right where the brush is) right on top of whatever you are trying to sweep up. Now push it gently & softly.THEN, about 95% of the time, it will sweep up the debris that it has otherwise been simply shoving out of the way.I haven't taken the time to really investigate & think through why it works like this, but whatever. Kind of annoying, but again; I'm still giving this thing 5 stars. Basically; you are putting the round brush right on top of whatever gunk you are trying to pick up. It's as if something underneath is too low-clearance & is just pushing certain crumbs / debris out of the way, but picking it up & placing the broom right centered & on top of it, picks it right up. Usually.- If you have any ladies with long hair (or 80's male rock stars I guess LOL) living with you, holy cow.....be prepared.....for the unreal amount of hair this thing will pick up!Buy yourself a knife if you don't already have a good one, because You WILL need a blade to cut their hair off of the brush, because it gets SO tangled up. You can imagine how tangled / wrapped long hair would get around a circular brush (again; like what's in your vacuum). The included "claw" tool is very cool & great, but a little insufficient for the amount of long hair & carpet fibers (long from where our *&#$ cat picks at an area of the carpet) this thing picks up. It DOES pick them all up beautifully, however. This is NOT a negative; it's GOOD that it picks up all these hair & fiberrs, and if you've ever seen the bottom of a vacuum cleaner that's been used more than once, you've no doubt seen tons of hair & other fibers wrapped around the rotating brush. Same with this. Nothing this device is doing wrong; its just how it works with long hair / fibers & round brushes. This brush inside its little "bays" holds a surprising (and gross!) amount of debris. Holy cow; the amount of dust, hair, gunk & junk it accumulates, even from a seemingly "clean" floor is awe-inspiring (and gross!).It is very easy to empty, and it does NOT require any filters, bags; nothing of the sort, which is a huge plus. Just hold it over the trash can, press where indicated, and gently tap to dump everything. Again; depending how much hair / fibers / nuclear-sized dust bunnies you have, you might need to get the included & handily attached "claw" tool to help dig the crap out & into the trash.I've long wanted a better way of picking up crumbs, pet hair, & other debris that just accumulates when you have hardware floors. I was about to buy a standing dust pan & broom (so I don't have to squat down) but then I ran across this Fuller Brush 17052 Electrostatic Carpet & Floor Sweeper & decided to try it. I'm very glad I did & it's a keeper for me.Just play & experiment with it & have realistic expectations of what it is & can do, vs. what it's not intended to be / do.

Tested removal of cat hair, cat litter and cat litter dust on high-pile carpet, medium-pile area rug and porcelain tile floors
I have a multi-cat household, including two long-haired cats, and I needed something that would pick up cat hair and cat litter on all of my floor surfaces so that I didn't need to bring out my vacuum cleaner daily. I have a vacuum that uses disposable bags rather than being bagless and I didn't want to be filling up a bag with cat hair and having to change the bag frequently or get cat litter dust throughout my high-end vacuum cleaner. The reviews for the different brands of carpet sweepers and the different models of Fuller Brush sweepers were confusing but I bought the Fuller Brush 17052 Electrostatic Carpet Sweeper based on my experience with Fuller Brush products and hoped it would meet my needs. I have a Prime membership and the sweeper was delivered today (Sunday) two days after I ordered it. NOTE: Although the picture of the item on amazon.com is pink, mine is a bright red.Putting sweeper together: It is important to make sure you are starting to thread the ends of sections and the bottom section of the handle to the sweeper correctly (i.e. start out straight/even; not crooked) so that they completely close together. It was easier for me to screw one section of the handle at a time starting at the bottom section being screwed into the base and then adding another section until the entire handle is screwed together rather than trying to screw the long handle already assembled onto the sweeper body. The plastic comb or rake just clips onto the bottom of the handle and wire bracket of the sweeper which is very handy to keep from misplacing it since you will need it to brush or rake the roller brush to remove cat hair that gets caught in the bristles of the roller. This model only comes with a natural bristle roller brush therefore I was not able to test the second type of roller brush that some Fuller Brush models come with.I tested the sweeper on all my floor surfaces that were covered with cat litter and cat hair: high pile wall-to-wall carpet, medium-pile area rug and porcelain tile. The sweeper picked up cat litter and cat hair off high pile carpeting, area rugs and hard tile floors. The reviewers who complained that you had to go over the same area several times to remove all of the cat hair and litter were correct, but I don't see that as a genuine problem---if I was sweeping my tile floors with a broom, I would have to go over the same path several times and my vacuum cleaner usually has to go over the same path to pick up cat hair or cat litter from high pile carpeting and med. pile throw rugs. The sections of the handle are screwed together and I did notice that I must inadvertently turn the handle as I am using the sweeper since I need to tighten two sections if they are no longer tightly screwed together---this may cease to be a problem once I am used to the sweeper. It is very light and easy to use on all of the floor surfaces going forward or back and the main path that the head covers is 7" with the bristles on the four corners bringing the length of the sweeper head to 8 1/2". The other reviewers are correct----it doesn't do away with the need for a vacuum cleaner but is an adjunct to your vacuum--very important if you are like me and have cat hair and litter on your floors daily. To empty sweeper: Over a waste paper basket or trash container, turn the sweeper upside down and press "PUSH" to empty each dust container. I filled one dust container twice; emptied it twice and the other dust container remained empty. Use the rake or comb to get the cat hair out of the bristles of the roller and I found that if you use the comb to bring the cat hair up you can then pull it off the roller with your fingers. You will be amazed at the amount of cat hair that will be on the roller and in the dust container and the amount of litter and litter dust that the sweeper has gotten off your floors. The bottom of the sweeper was very dusty from the cat litter and needed to be wiped off with a paper towel or cloth when I finished. NOTE: You can't use harsh abrasive cleaners or put the sweeper or roller in your automatic dishwasher. The instruction sheet that comes with the sweeper is easy to understand and must have been written by someone whose first language was English---which I greatly appreciate! This carpet sweeper appears to be well made and durable; and is a bargain at the price. I have no idea why other Fuller Brush carpet sweeper products vary in price----perhaps newer models, two types vs just one type of roller brush, etc. Based on the results of my test and the two Fuller Brush nylon hair brushes that my mother and then I have used constantly since 1950 (which still look brand new other than one has slightly yellowed), I think I will be using this sweeper for years to come and probably daily around cat litter boxes. I highly recommend this carpet sweeper. I hope this information will be useful to you in selecting a carpet sweeper if you have cats.

Compact carpet sweeper
The carpet sweeper arrived in perfect condition and works as it should. I was looking for something small and compact, and it is. However, I chose this one, because in the description, it stated the “country of origin” is the USA. It is not.

Wonderful carpet sweeper!!
I have four animals, a lot of of vinyl plank flooring, and area rugs. I was very tired of hauling out my vacuum cleaner every time the kibble was spilled or I dropped some cereal or there was just a lot of hair on the floor. The vacuum cleaner was loud And scared my animals. and I would always have to turn off the music I was listening to. Then I decided to try this little carpet sweeper by fuller brush. I remember the company and I remember carpet sweepers from when I was a child. This is my absolute favorite piece of equipment living in my home! It is so lightweight and quiet and actually fun to push around. It picks up hair, pieces of grass, kibble everything! It is so light and maneuverable and low profile that I can get completely under beds couches everything. I love it. It sits in my kitchen, always ready to go and it is so unobtrusive. It does not look out of place at all!! I still drag out the vacuum sometimes but for day-to-day quick cleanups my bright red carpet sweeper is the best!
