They seem pretty sturdy in themselves, but you'll pull the screws out of the surface of whatever they're anchored to before you approach their actual structural limit. I used heavier, longer screws than what came with. Not sure what they're asking for about sheerness, but they're compact little things, though not deceptively tiny like some hardware on Amazon. These are cool, but they are what they are.
