This sun shade works great. Easy to assemble and disassemble. I recommend this shade.

Product was nice but the mounting hardware completely ripped out of the kayak with barely any wind. Ended up using butterfly anchors to secure properly. For this reason, only two stars in my opinion.Please be aware this acts as a wind sail if you have any kind of wind. This is not a manufacturers defect whatsoever though.

I shopped around a bit prior to making this purchase. Other brands were cost prohibitive, at least in my own opinion, given the functionality of this product. It’s nice to keep the sun from beating down on you all day in a kayak, but lots of people get by with a hat and sunscreen, so it isn’t a necessity so much as a luxury. That said, I like it quite a lot. It’s a little difficult to take apart and stow back in the bag provided, because a few of the poles have a slight curvature at the end and also because the elastic tends to pull the pieces back together while you work on a different section. I wouldn’t try to disassemble it on the water, although you probably wouldn’t be tempted to do so unless caught in a nasty headwind, in which case the screen creates drag, forcing you to work harder.You need to have the type of boat with fishing rod holders behind the seating area, since this is where the ends of the poles fit. Otherwise, I would assume some modification would be in order, either to the product or to the boat itself.Everything considered, I paddled around all day in the sun without getting burned to a crisp. When the wind picked up, I removed it. I think I’ll appreciate having it as a part of my kayaking accessories kit, for bright sunny days on calm waters.

I think the canopy will be fine someday in the future, but I have two immediate issues with the seller. 1) No where in the product description does it say you will need to buy a separate mounting kit to install on a kayak. The two support poles that hold the canopy up need to be inserted into mounts that you need to purchase separately for $20. It is not the $20 that bothered me, but finding out after the purchase that I need to buy more and wait another week to install the product that I want to use today.2) The seller says to email them to get an installation video, but never divulges their e-mail address. Email who? Email how? This is stupid. This seller frustrates me. The product may be fine, but I won’t know that for a while.

I LOVE THIS SHADE!!! As you can see I am a porcelain ginger so I need as much protection from the sun as possible and this is perfect! Super easy to set up and store on or off of your kayak . Also its flexible so if there are low hanging trees you can maneuver around them . One more thing it survived my flip!! I turned my yak over with this attached and it actually stayed , I am so pleased and recieved so many compliments while floating!
