Spectacular dark roast, good quality pricing, for my new exposure to different beans, this is a huge win compared to others so far. The beans have a beautiful quality and shine, there is little to no oil residue on the beans, the scent and aroma from opening the shipping container to the bag itself was delightful. You get all the notes perfectly as described, there is very little if not no acidity, the texture is smooth but filled with rich flavor.

I mix my coffee beans in the morning before grinding them in a Ditting coffee grinder. This Dark Sumatra is my key ingredient for every special blend I make. Other flavors that blend are Dark Kenya and Blue Nile. I have found that using this Dark Sumatra for about half of the total coffee beans gives me quite good to excellent flavor that I like most consistently. I experiment with other beans, bus so far, nothing have beaten the consistent quality and taste of this bean.

I really like these whole beans, I had a different company that made dark roast Sumatra for many years, but sadly they stopped offering it. I have tried a few other brands, this one is the best tasting replacement I have found, I’m purchasing one 2lb bag a month and I grind a 12 cup pot of beans every morning, I like it strong. If you know coffee you know dark roast has the least acid and the best taste. I like this one so much I finally decided to do the subscription plan through Amazon. I figure the pot of coffee costs roughly 35 cents to make.

The coffee, is fresh, smooth, mild and tastes good.

Coffee in copious amounts is important to me and my job. I work nights. I drink it on my days off, too. Espresso Only, made on my excellent Hamilton Beach (Amazon) machine. Ground by my Capresso Burr Grinder(yep, Amazon). This seems to be pure Sumatran. Shiny fresh beans that have great aroma. I grind them a bit finer than normal espresso grind. Almost Turkish coffee fine, so it takes 25-30 seconds to make 2 to 3 ounces of gorgeous Espresso. I am a coffee snob. I only use Cuban Cafe Pilon Supreme beans or Sumatran(my fave) for my espresso. No sugar. Just grass fed butter and unflavored collagen powder(Bullet Proof Espresso). Sometimes some MCT oil too. Cheaper than Starbucks Sumatran which is about $1.00/ounce vs $.76/ounce. Hard to say which is better. They are quite close in every respect. I will give the edge to this coffee for being fresher. I will be buying a LOT of this from now on.
