Which side do I bleed on the pretty side or the gray? They pads keep sliding around as well I had it gray side up

grey side is what the pad is the design is the bottom. I do as well have an issue with them sliding as well but all and all they are god pads and worth the money spent.

How long should I soak the dirty pads before washing them?
