Fluval 11077 ProVac Powered Aquarium Gravel Cleaner

I was hesitant to purchase this item at 1st because of all of the bad reviews I read, but I decided to give it a try and I am so glad that I did! I don't have a big tank just a 10 gallon one, but before buying this I was using a small net to clean out the bottom of my tank, which took me forever! This vac has cut my cleaning time down tremendously. When using this, it does help that I don't have a thick layer of rocks/gravel in my tank which is very useful. I find that moving it in an up and down motion and leaving it in the same spot for 5 seconds at a time prevents it from becoming clogged. The suction power I feel is just enough to get the job done, for you to be able to get rid of the waste. When you are using it, your water will get cloudy which is to be expected, but it will clear up. When you are done using it, you will need let the water drain/drip over your tank and then have a bowl near by to place the vac in so you can take it to your sink so it won't drip all over the floor. Cleanup is super easy and the filter catches a lot of the super small, tiny particles. I do suggest buying extra packs of the filters when you make your purchase, so you have them. But when cleaning the filter just treat it with care and also allow it to dry before putting it back into the cartridge, and you'll be able to get multiple uses out of it. I have been able to reuse mine up to 5x's as of now and I think I'll be able to use it at least 4 to 5 more times before I need to change it out for a new one. The only complaint I do have is it doesn't come with the hose to be able to use the water change feature, so you do have to purchase that separately, which for the price it should come with it. But other than that I am super happy with my purchase and definitely recommend.

I am absolutely disheartened and infuriated with my recent purchase of the Fluval 11077 ProVac Powered Aquarium Gravel Cleaner and Vacuum. After saving up for so long and eagerly anticipating its arrival for my turtle aquarium, I couldn't have been more let down. The product was delivered on time, and the package was undamaged, which gave me a glimmer of hope. Excitedly, I hurried to my aquarium, read the instructions carefully, and plugged the device in, expecting it to work wonders. To my utter sadness and frustration, the only thing that turned on was the LED light; the vacuum function did not work at all. Nothing. No suction, no cleaning. NOTHING. The disappointment I felt was crushing. I had envisioned a device that would make maintaining my aquarium easier and more efficient. Instead, I was confronted with a useless piece of equipment. The fact that I was so excited yet so let down made me want to cry. Now, to add insult to injury, I have to go through the arduous process of returning this defective product. My closest Amazon return facility is 10 miles away, and given the current 100° heat, this is not only inconvenient but also physically exhausting. The thought of walking 10 miles in such heat, just to return something that should have worked perfectly fine upon arrival, makes me even angrier. Fluval, you have severely disappointed a long-time customer. Your quality control should be better. This experience has completely shattered my trust in your brand. I expected a premium product given the cost and your reputation, but instead, I was met with a defective and useless device. You have not only cost me time and money but also caused immense frustration and physical inconvenience. This experience has been nothing short of a nightmare, and I can't, in good conscience, recommend the Fluval 11077 ProVac to anyone. Do better, Fluval. You've lost a loyal customer due to this sheer negligence and poor quality control.

Work good while they work. The last 2 I bought stop working within 3 or 4 months. I had to jiggle the cord to get it to vacuum. The light is still working but the suction quit on both models. These things are too expensive to break in that short of time. I remember buying the last one in January 2026 and by May 2026 it had broken. The other was broke about the same time frame. I know the price at Petco is over $100. This product isn’t used but once a week maybe or less which makes it worse

Not good for 29 gallon aquarium. The water doesn’t expel from the filter well because it has to be submerged to reach the bottom. Necessitates an extension. Two speed suction seem to pull water at the same rate. Switch is push button and difficult to turn on and off. Also, you don’t know what speed the pump is because both speeds sound and feel the same. Only one filter comes with it which dirties quickly. The filter can be cleaned out but I don’t believe it will last long. What’s good is because the suction is so low, sand doesn’t easily get pulled up. However gravel, like Flourite, doesn’t budge. Making it tough to get anything off the substrate. It fits over some plants so diatoms and other debris can be cleaned off the leaves. I have three stars and that’s being generous. Glad I didn’t pay retail at 80 dollars, it’s not worth it.

I’ve only used this once (on my 6 gallon and my 36 gallon tanks) and it did exactly what I was hoping it would!! Cleaned the food and waste from the bottom without a huge mess or trying to maintain the siphon. Beautiful product!! It took me all of about 15-20 minutes to do both tanks. It could be a bit longer in size for the larger tank but it still worked wonderfully. It runs quietly and doesn’t scare the fish. It’s not overly bulky or heavy, which makes holding it very easy. The cord is long enough to accommodate my needs. It auctioned up the food and waste quick quickly.

This device worked great cleaning out my tank and the device is the prefect size for my 20 gallon tank. I didn’t have any issues getting to any off the mess in my tank. Easy to use and easy to clean. The fact that I don’t have to worry about hauling any dirty water saves me so much time and energy. The suction is great on this device and I didn’t have any issues but my mess is mainly fish food and waste from my frogs. I have five African dwarf frogs and an algae eater in my tank. They don’t make much waste. The device is very durable and looks great. I have no complaints about this device but if things change I will be back to update my review.

I'm on my one second because I abuse them...I love this thing..is it perfect..no..but so far it's the easiest one to use that I've experienced...my problem with this vac is that it's a little bulky for tight spots,the filters are reusable but only a few times and they're like 10 bucks for 4 like sell a pack or 10 or 20...and the price of the vac is alittle high but it is what it is...it's a great vac.. I love the led light...the only reason my first on died is because the wire got weird where it enters the handle and would cut out from time to time..I might try to open it up and fix it but I'm lerie with it being in water lol.its a great vac that works really well and when or if this one dies ill buy another.

I have bought other tank vacuums which turned out to be disastrous, water everywhere, too many parts that didn’t work and they were more expensive than the ProVac. The ProVac has made cleaning my 5 gal Betta tank a breeze. I can’t believe how much stuff the ProVac traps in the filter. After vacuuming, I do a 50% water change and the tank is pristine again with great water values. Love the ProVac.

Great item, easy to use, works really well however I recieved it with a different country power plug even when bought from AU Amazon.
