I have been using this for cold therapy on my lower back and on my shoulder. Being that this has the two elastic straps with velcro, it is super easy to use. No struggling with ice bags or ice packs and trying to keep them in place. With this I pull it out of the freezer, wrap it around my back like a support belt, and secure it in place using the velcro on the straps. I refer to it as my "Ice Belt". You'll find you're not stuck sitting somewhere trying to keep an ice bag or ice pack in place. Instead you'll put it on like a support belt, and go about your business. I can sit at the computer, get up and do some woodworking, put out the trash, etc...and never worry about it falling off. Similarly, when I apply the cold wrap to my shoulder, the elastic straps go across my back and chest, and affix with the velcro. Again, I can get up, move around and do things without the cold wrap moving off my shoulder.Besides all of the advantages, this hot/cold wrap is priced very, very, very reasonably!!! My doctor thought it was a $50 pack and almost fell over when I told him the price. Buy this!!!!!

I have tried a few different brands/styles of cold wraps, and this one seems to be the most sensible one I have found yet. Other designs are way too heavy for their strap, and end up falling out of place. Or, they are very expensive. This one is easy to use, seems to stay cold in a cooler when I take it on gigs, and stays cold on my body for the prescribed amount of time for cold therapy (15-20 minutes). I bought a second one so I can swap them out on breaks. The velcro straps work VERY well for keeping the pack nice and firmly held in place. The only "negative" thing about this device is that it doesn't stay cold for long, if that is what you're looking for. Otherwise, it's highly portable (in a cooler of ice or ice packs) and simple to use. I have been dealing with a pulled back muscle for months, and this gel pack has been a nice addition to my hot/cold therapy routine.

Fortunately for me, I have not had to use the product yet because the pain I was feeling has subsided. The product appears to be of high quality and construction and is as described by the seller but a little more narrow than imagined. I did try wearing the pack as I expect to use it when needed. I think it would work very well as heat/cold therapy for my back as the elasticized velcro straps hold the pack in place well. However, as a full-figured woman, I found it a little difficult to place for shoulder therapy as the velcro straps were just a little short for me. I was able to get the pack in place but it was tight across my shoulder - not extremely uncomfortable but not as comfortable as I would prefer. I think it would be fine for an average-sized person. I am pleased with this purchase and rated this product as 5 stars based of the quality of materials and construction and the stellar customer service.

Warms up in only a couple of minutes in a 1000W microwave. It comes out very hot if you touch the gel packs, but not if you touch the nylon velcro band used to wrap and tighten around one's waist. I wrapped a small dry terry cloth hand towel around it a few times and the insulation was about perfect, but could be unwound gradually as it cools. It stays warm for hours, so you need not keep reheating it. However, it recommends only wearing it for about 15 minutes at a time, then leaving it off for an hour before using it again. Very durable plastic or nylon or polyester makeup of the belt of permanently bonded together gel packs. I expect that you would never need to replace it. Wonderful investment, highly recommended.

Great ice pack. I love that it has straps and I can move around with it on. It does not stay cold for too long ~15 mins ish. But I’m going to order another one so I can alternate between the two. It’s very flexible. I use it for lower back and around my neck.
