This is quite possibly the best yoga/workout mat on Amazon. I tried and returned 4 other mats before getting to this one. I LOVE this mat. I do HIIT-style workouts at home and I needed a mat that was thick enough to cushion my feet/knees/wrists and did not slip on my hard tile floor. This mat finally did all of those things. It’s thick enough that my wrists and knees do not hurt during floor exercises. It does NOT slip on the tile floor even during fast lateral moves. And I do not slip on it even when I’m sweaty. And to top it all off, it comes in a pretty color. I could not be happier. It’s also a nice size. I’m 5’10” and I wish it was a little longer, but it’s not the end of the world. However, if they ever made this exact mat in a longer version, I would buy it. It is bigger than most “normal” yoga mats I’ve bought, so please don’t let my comment on size discourage you from this product. All I’m saying is that if a longer one ever existed, I would get it. Haha. Another couple pluses that I just thought of: it’s easy to wipe down and clean and it unrolls nicely and becomes flat pretty quickly. I tried a couple other thick mats and the end never fully unfurled. I don’t roll this up super tight, so that probably helps. Also, it seems like it has a sturdy surface that won’t flake or crack. One of the other mats had splits in the surface of it after only one use. I’ve used this one a couple times now with shoes on and the surface is still intact. This one MIGHT even resist dog nails, but I love this mat so much that I am NOT letting my baby on it (no matter how hard he tries)! Wow, I just talked so long about a yoga mat… now y’all know how amazing it is. Don’t try to get the $30 ones if you want a thick mat that won’t slip on hard floors. I’ve tried almost all of them. Just get this one!Update: Only downside of this mat is the horribly useless strap that comes with it. I just re-bought this mat about a year after buying my first one and, despite all the negative comments about the strap, this company is still using the same one. Such a shame. It’s way too small, so it’s hard to get over the mat, and then you’re left with just a teeny length in the middle with which to carry it. I still love the mat though and I’m only buying it again to have one for my mom when she comes to visit.

I upgraded from my old mat, and this is amazing!! It is at least twice as thick as my old mat. It’s worth the price, and it’s a beautiful color. I am able to do yoga and strength training easily on this mat. It doesn’t slip, provides extra cushion for my knees, and feels amazing to stand on. It is bigger than a standard yoga mat which is a plus for me at home but I imagine it might be difficult or bulkier to travel with. It also doesn’t fold up as tightly because of that so it takes up a little more room. It is durable, because my dog has walked on it several times, and there are no tears or holes!! I love this mat and would buy again.

Super comfy and wide enough to support me. The included string to carry it honestly sucks, but I don't really take it anywhere. (Just get a yoga mat bag.) The mat itself is really nice. Just as the others mentioned, it smelled like the factory, so I let it air out in the sun and now it's fine. It also can be punctured by dog nails. My dog left some divots behind for me to remember him. I think they give it character, for every scar tells a story. I love mine for it's thickness and large size, but if you're reading this, the main problems are: it's hard to travel with, must be broken in, and can tear.

Great mat. I like the thicker padding and the quality is great. The width is definitely preferred over a traditional mat.

UPDATE: I found the little strap - it did come with one. Also, the seller reached out to offer a full refund. I will not follow through with that, but I'm revising my review from 2 to 4 stars because I appreciate the consideration and customer service.I am disappointed with this mat. It has an unpleasant rubbery odor that will not go away even though I've aired it for over a week and carefully wiped it down per the cleaning instructions. Mine also did not come with any kind of carry strap, so I don't even have a way to tie it closed for storage. Also, there is a bit of residue on the surface - little black flecks come off the mat during use.I've given two stars because I appreciate the size and thickness of the mat. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this item.

If you're reading this you are likely trying to discern which of the million amazon products with 1 dimensional pictures actually represent the thing that you are looking for. What I was looking for -- anti garbage (durability + multi-purpose), thickness (as I am new to yoga and the whole point of the mat was padding for my knees, hips etc. Figured 1/2 in thick would also be low enough to the ground to balance on), width (i like the challenge to find my own center line and alignment without the mat letting me know). Turns out if a mat is thick it can also be very squishy and therefore hard to balance on ... but not this mat. This one is 1/2 in thick and dense and firm. Wow. I bought the purple and the orange for the fam - the colors are beautiful, which is a bonus. The orange I received was better, maybe shipping differences. Having looked at other brand yoga mats, perhaps this price is great for the quality and materials. I initially bought another cheaper brand since I am a newb and wasn't expecting to actually follow through with my plans to yoga - but it was way too squishy to stand and balance a simple warrior I pose and narrow where you'll likely be off the matt in many poses (which is not ideal if you're already 1/2 in off the floor). After 40 days of yoga on this mat, I can say the price was worth it for 40 days of pure FLOW. Slippage is very minimal, and non existent when you start to learn to grip properly. Somedays I was sweaty, I used a microfiber towel underneath the palm. Hope you find what you're looking for. Namaste.
