SENTRO Knitting Machine 48 Needles with Row Counter, Crochet Knitting Loom Ma...

I have been interested in getting a knitting machine for a while now and heard a lot of positive things about the sentro one. Assembly was easy, getting the suction cups on at the bottom was the hardest part and I just pushed them in with my screwdriver. I watched a quick YouTube video on how to thread and start your projects and once that happened I had no issue! I’ve used it in tube mode and panel mode. Tube mode is the easiest and I recommend you just make a tube to start with spare yarn to get the hang of it. I did not use the yarn provided in the kit but I did use a thinner one than provided and it turned out great. It can get confusing if a stitch becomes dropped, mostly in panel mode. But I found if I create a ledge with tape where I want my yarn to stop, and wrap an elastic band around the peg I need to stop on, it greatly helped with accidentally missing that last row in panel mode. I used the Caron latte cakes yarn and not even a full cake created a sweater! I made a tube for the body of the sweater, two long panels individually sewn shut for the sleeves. And two thin panels to create a square neckline to connect the sleeves and body!

First, the tiny suction cups are a waste. Find a lap desk, a plank of wood, etc and use the screws to permanently affix the Sentro to it. I use a 2 foot shelf and double sided foam tape and it works well. All knitting machines have a learning curve. Some machines work well with cheap yarn and some do not. MOST problems with yarn are due to tension and static. Every new yarn should be tested prior to starting a project. Learn the tension that each yarn needs, find a fine spray spray bottle to lightly spray the yarn already knit as well as your hands to keep static down. Find a good hand lotion to keep your hands hydrated. As an owner of 5 knitting machines (3 Addi, 2 Sentro) I feel I have a decent handle on using both. If you buy a Sentro, keep at it. It's a good machine Lastly, if you buy a Sentro, also buy a back up row counter (the purple one that works with magnets is excellent). The row counter on the 48 pin has a known defect of breaking, but that should not be a deterrent for purchase. Good luck, happy cranking!!

This machine is fine if you are considering value for money. If you have the cash I would DEFINITELY go with the Addi King Size. But this is 1/5th of the price and does an adequate job. It’s a bit picky with what yarns work in it. If you use a yarn it doesn’t like you will get tucked stitches aplenty, but with the correct yarn and something proper to hold it down, it’s fine. It’s great for what it costs. It’s not great compared to the machines of higher quality.

I’ve had my 40-peg Sentro knitting machine for barely a month, and I’m already incredibly frustrated with its quality. The machine feels wonky right out of the box—uneven tension, inconsistent rotations, and constant snagging that makes it nearly impossible to get a smooth project done. What makes this even worse is that one of the tiny screws in the casing came completely stripped from the start. Because of that, I cannot take it apart to do the basic maintenance the machine actually requires. A stripped screw on a brand-new machine is unacceptable, and it makes the product feel cheap and poorly manufactured. For something that’s supposed to make crafting easier, this has been nothing but a headache. Between the unstable performance and the fact that I can’t even service it properly due to damaged hardware, I honestly regret buying it. I expected better durability and build quality—especially for a tool that needs regular maintenance to function. If you’re considering getting a Sentro, be aware: the quality control is not reliable, and you might end up with a machine you can’t even repair. At this point, mine’s practically unusable after only one month. I can’t recommend it.

I got this because I saw it on YouTube and never heard of it before. I crochet and have never knitted but wanted to try to learn so I could make me some sweaters. First day I got it, it worked to make 5 inch tube, it came with 4 little skeins, so I was just learning to use it. Well after the first little tube I made the thing got stuck, I couldn't make a full turn either way. So I used the screwdrive it came with and had to open it up to see what was getting stuck. I didn't find the place it got stuck, so I just put it back together and it worked again. But I tried and tried to make a panel but the panel mode didn't work, I don't even know why the button was there cause it just turned and never stopped when it should have. But the constant stitches dropping and wasting so much yarn trying to make a perfect panel, I gave up. This isn't for me, it just made me super mad and frustrated so I had to return.

The machine is not perfect which I was not expecting because this specific knitting machine is limited and also depends on how the user does the tension, yarn type, etc. You have to take the most of the machine. So far did not break. And I handle it very gentle to avoid to break because if the tension is abnormal and yarn ball gets tangled or stuck not releasing the yarn it will brake the needles of the machine. Always watch the yarn feeding the machine. And the machine warns you, it stops working smoothly and makes grinding noise if yarn and tension is abnormal. Always watch if the yarn is running freely. I put the yarn ball on a pasta drainer with legs on the floor and the yarn line goes up to around drawer button and meets the machine on the counter. The yarn has to be removed from the ball for some rounds with your hands to avoid compromising the tension.

I got myself the smaller (and more expensive without coupons/sales) machine and it broke 2 of the needles themselves immediately, had to wait for a shipment of replacement pins, got 2 little trial runs before the gears were ripped to shreds. THIS MACHINE, is leagues and bounds better than that thing. This is 48 pins, first of all, 40 won't even make a hat for an adult. This machine, is smooth like butter and pretty quiet compared to the junk one from Michael's, I highly recommend. No it does not drop stitches when you get the feel for how to use it, it will feel like it doesn't work at first, it's not quite as easy as everyone makes it look until you figure it out, then it is as easy as everyone makes it work. I got mine home today and already have a pillow and a pair of pants done

Ich habe meine „alte“ Strickmaschine mit auf Arbeit genommen, um mit meinen Hortkindern zu stricken. Sie wollten, dass ich ihnen das Häkeln und Stricken beibringe und mit so vielen Kindern ist das einfach nicht machbar. Mit der Maschine klappt das super. Wir haben schon einige Mützen, Loops und Stirnbänder auf der Maschine gestrickt und für die Kinder sind die schnellen Erfolgserlebnisse (eine Mütze dauert ca 30 Minuten) spitze. Ich fädel ihnen den Faden auf, sie kurbeln ihre Runden (der integrierte Rundenzähler ist sehr hilfreich) und am Ende nehme ich das Stück von der Maschine, nähe alles zusammen und die Kinder freuen sich über ihre Mützen/Schals/Stirnbänder und tragen sie ganz stolz. Man kann die Maschine auch einstellen, dass sie „Panels“, also keine Schläuche, strickt und man kann daraus dann Pullover usw. fertigen, aber das habe ich noch nicht ausprobiert. Das auffädeln der Wolle ist ganz leicht und auch das Abnehmen des Stückes am Ende ist kein Hexenwerk. Es gibt auch ganz wunderbare Anleitungen im Netz, mit denen man sogar Muster in seine Werke zaubern kann. Ich kann Strickmaschinen absolut empfehlen und würde mir bei Bedarf wieder eine kaufen :)

Es justo lo que esperaba! Después de leer tantos comentarios buenos y malos decidí comprarla y ha superado mis expectativas. Lo único que hay que atinar con el grosor de la lana , muy gruesas no se puede xq se atasca pero con grosores medios y delgados va de maravilla, al principio me saltaban algunos puntos pero luego de ir probando el tensor ahora va genial !

Very easy to knit and handles multiple wool threads very well. Very easy to setup and start knitting. Only cons: the suction cups provided with the item is pretty useless, so finding the right way of fixing the machine to a base is a challenge. The cranking is not very smooth. However, for the price point it is very good. Highly recommend
