Hannah Garrett supremacy!
"Most of the popular kids are total douchebags. Case in point—Garrett Graham, the other star athlete in this class. Dude walks around like he owns the place. I guess he kind of does." I don't know what is so special about this series that makes me want to keep coming back but I definitely am not complaining about it. I first read the book back in 2016 and since then, I've been obsessed with this world. Every book has it's own charm and it's like I can't get enough of Hannah & Garrett. They are my favourites! "Every girl at this college would cut her frickin’ arm off to help me out. But this one? Runs away like I just asked her to murder a cat so we could sacrifice it to Satan." Garrett Graham- Briar's star hockey player and the team's captain is failing in his class and he needs a tutor. Luckily for him, Hannah Wells aka Wellsy is acing her grades and he is not going to give up persuading her, no matter how much she resists. Garrett is used to everyone treating him like a celebrity but imagine his surprise when Hannah doesn't seem to be interested in giving him the time of her day. Despite being pushy and kind of overconfident, Garret was such a kind, compassionate, headstrong, protective and sweet guy. He is definitely top on the list of my favourite book boyfriends. “Does that usually work?” she asks curiously. “What?” “The aw-shucks little boy grin... Does it help you get your way?” “Always,” I answer without hesitation. “Almost always,” she corrects. Hannah was a talented vocalist/composer and had a crush on some football player and wasn't sure how to catch his attention. So, when Garrett offers to help her (with a stupid idea) in exchange of tutoring him, she caves and agrees to go on a fake date with him. Hannah was such a cool chick, I honestly related with her a lot. The things she said were so apt that I couldn't help but connect with her. She was funny, sassy, talented and carefree. I hated that one major incident in her life kind of dimmed her light. Both Hannah and Garrett had their own set of issues to deal with and it wasn't easy (you should check out the trigger warnings before reading the book if you can't handle such serious topics). Though I loved how they slowly opened up to each other and had a good communication. "Sometimes people sneak up on you and suddenly you don’t know how you ever lived without them. How you went about your day and hung out with your friends and f'ed other people without having this one important person in your life." Hannah & Garrett's relationship flowed so naturally and there were no complications. Their comrade was so perfect and I could practically feel the sparks erupting between them. Elle Kennedy sure knows how to keep her readers hooked with some amazing side characters, humours banters and unforgettable moments. There's not only romance but also some meaningful moments in the books. (Especially when Hannah stroma into the boys locker room. That was hilarious and what happened after it, was THE BEST PART) I guess that's what keeps me want to re-read the series. Overall, the series is imperfectly perfect and I can say that I'm never going to stop re-reading these precious books!

Finished in 24 hours!!
First time reading Elle. And my God, am I late to the party! I thoroughly enjoyed the book. It was sweet, real, cute and moved so fast leaving me to want more. I pretty much loved every single character. And I can't wait to get on to the next book now. Save for one cliche twist towards the end, the book pretty much sailed smoooooth for me. Go for it. You'll love it.

Romantic
- [ ] I have always liked watching movies and reading books based on college romance. So in search of the same, I started reading The Deal Book after seeing it highly rated on Kindle. - [ ] This book is simple, sweet, sexy and emotional. I did not find much newness in the story, yet I enjoy reading the story. This book written in dual POV, which i really enjoyed, this book is about two people, Hannah and Garrett who apparently are very different from each other, but as the story progresses they both find each other similar in many ways. - [ ] Hannah who is a simple and not popular girl in school but she has some good friends and a supportive family, her past has not been good due to which while she gets good grades in school but when it comes to relationship and sex if so, she gets scared. - [ ] Garrett is the captain of the hockey team. Who is very popular among girls because of his good looks, good player and being the son of world’s legend hockey player. Its past also was not very good. - [ ] When Garrett gets an F grade in his course, he needs a tutor to help him improve his grades, otherwise he will be kicked off the hockey team. After much persuasion, Hannah agrees to provide tuition in exchange for Garrett helping her meet her crush. But how a kiss makes both of them fall in love with each other, you will find out by reading this book. - [ ] While the story of the book is predictable, I still enjoyed reading the book. If you like books written on college romance, then you will definitely like the book. The book also focuses on issues like rape and child abuse, which I liked. - [ ] I don't like Garrett's character very much. Garrett's over-smartness about himself seems very strange. The way he comments about girls also doesn't make me feel good. Garrett's thought process throughout the book: I want to check out her ass again, because it’s a damn sexy ass, and now that I’ve seen it I wouldn’t mind another look. Because…again…I’m a guy. - [ ] Why you should read. - Want to read feel good book - For love chemistry - For good Storyline - For good college romance

One of my all-time favourites.
This book was so much better than I expected. And after all the fawning reviews, I was expecting it to be good. Turns out, it's awesome. The novel follows our two main characters, Hannah and Garrett. When Garrett finds out that he's failing his ethics class and that he might not be able to play hockey if he doesn't bring his GPA back up, he turns to the only person in the class who got an 'A'. Hannah is less than inclined to help him. But when he suggests that he'd help her get a date with a guy she's crushing on in exchange, a deal is struck. And that's all the info you need to know because the Goodreads synopsis is totally not right. Seriously, half of it is wrong. But that's no problem because the wrong part is substituted by something better. But you have to read the book for that. And reading this book will be no chore, I promise. This is such a light and fun read but also touching and cute and emotional... you'll be glad you picked it up. I sure am. This is a well written novel with very likable characters, a good and interesting story, a perfect pace and is very entertaining. I was smiling and laughing the entire time I was reading it, which was one day and basically one sitting, since bathroom breaks don't count. The best part was, hands down, the relationship between Garrett and Hannah. I mean, apart they were both well-developed and likable people, but together, they were perfect. The romance between them was slow burning and done very well. It wasn't a case of insta-lust, like in most novels. No, things started off with the deal and they slowly became friends. They bickered, they talked, they studied, they laughed and developed a beautiful connection, all before trying to get in each other pants. Shocker, I know! Honestly though, they both cared about and knew one-another. They had mutual respect and a lot of trust. They supported one-another. And they laughed. I know I already mentioned that, but I just loved that they made each other laugh. I understand feelings and intensity and sexual attraction and all that. But I call total bullshit on true love if the two people have never even shared a genuine laugh. Laughter is very important to me, and something I often find to be lacking in romance novels. So yeah, I adored the relationship between out protagonists. One of the best ones I've read. And I believe the two are perfect together. The supporting characters were also given a fairly good introduction so that they wouldn't be interchangeable. Especially the ones that will appear more in the future novels of the series. Overall, everything was great and I was in a terrific mood after reading it. Highly recommend checking this one out.

If hot chocolate on a snowy winter night was a book, then The Deal would be it
This book was downright amazing! I was hooked from the moment of their meet-cute. I absolutely loved Garrett and Hannah, and Garrett and Hannah together. I liked how the author developed Hannah. She went through something no one ever should go through. Hannah and Garrett were both very realistic. Yes, there were some cliché moments and turns and drama, but they were just the right amount. I can't wait to finish all the books in the series!

Good campus story!
The beginning is beautiful, Hannah is a strong, thoughtful and level headed girl and Garrett is young man who is hockey captain and seemingly good at it. So one sees his leadership, problem solving thing skills. Together they make a great story under the pen of Elle Kennedy. Even without adult content it would have made a really good read. Ending feels like there could be a sequel to it.

A fun and enjoyable read
I loved this story so freaking much. I connected to the characters very well and I think I have a new book boyfriend that is Garrett. I loved the chemistry between the characters and the whole plot was amazing. I couldn't put this book down. I devoured it in just one day which is quite rare foe me. I highly recommend it if you love slow burn romances.

I went without knowing much, only based on a recommendation. And I throughly enjoyed it! The pace, the character development, the humor, the romance, the hard stuff… Everything felt natural and real.

Fabulous NA College read, witty and romantic, loved it!!
The Deal (Off Campus #1) by Elle Kennedy 5 stars!! “Living well and being happy is how we get over the s*** in our past.” I have to admit I am a sucker for college books, when you get to my age you like to re-live your past and a fun and fabulous college experience is something I never had, so I live vicariously through these types of reads and boy did I live while reading this one. I loved everything about this book, the characters, the writing and the story. While the storyline itself may not be unique, the way it was delivered certainly was. This is a beautifully written NA college romance where the characters spring to life before your eyes. The way that Elle Kennedy has written this book, will transport you back to your college campus living the life and walking every step with these characters. You will smile every smile, you will laugh every laugh and you will shed every tear. Written in dual POV of both Hannah and Garrett means that you cannot help but connect to these characters on every level and it won’t be long before both of them have taken a permanent residence in your heart. “Exactly how old is your penis?” “He’s twenty, like me…But he’s way more mature than I am. What about your lady canal? Is she wiser than her years, or is she…” Hannah was a beautiful character both inside and out. She had dealt with a lot in her past and was trying to build a new life for herself. Everything was a struggle, especially with money, but with hard work and determination she was a straight A student, majoring in music and was just as talented behind the mic as she was on a philosophy paper. I fell in love with Hannah, while you would have expected her to be the meek and timid type; she actually had guts, balls and determination. She may have blushed like a tomato at any innuendo or while in the company of boys but that only made her all the more endearing. You couldn’t help but be sucked into her charm, her honesty, her integrity and everything else in between. Garrett, oh my god, this man had me swooning. For a guy that had never done romance and was the college lothario, when he fell, he fell hard. Despite his one night stand reputation, no relationships, no girlfriends’ mantra at least he had the balls to admit that Hannah was different and embraced it. He happily gave up his man card and it was endearing to read. You couldn’t help but champion for these two, but with two novices, you always know that they may have a bumpy road ahead. “I never expected her. Sometimes people sneak up on you and suddenly you don’t know how you ever lived without them…” Garrett never had the best start in life either and he also had his troubles and problems to deal with. Whereas before he would just bottle it up and never told a soul, Hannah was like a truth serum, both to herself and Garrett and to watch these two open up to each other tore at my heart strings. These two trusted each other implicitly and because their relationship was borne of friendship and trust you couldn’t help but hope they would make it. This book was beautifully balanced, the wit and banter between Hannah and Garrett will have you smiling and laughing, these two really clicked, they were totally down with each other’s humour and both gave as good as they got. This was unique for Garrett, he had only been wanted for being a hockey god and for being his father’s son, but Hannah was someone he had found himself and wanted to be with him just because he was Garrett. “…but this time it’s different. Because it’s Hannah saying it, and she’s not just any girl. And because I know that when she says she loves me, she actually means me – Garrett – and not Briar’s hockey star, or Mr Popularity, or Phil Graham’s son. She loves me.” Garrett was fiercely loyal and protective, like I said above, once he went in, he goes all in and gives it everything. He may have been cocky and arrogant at times but it was all in jest, waggly eyebrows and all and you couldn’t help but fall for his charm. It is both their personalities that really brought this book to life and the sizzling chemistry between these two was palpable and radiated off the page. “I don’t look back these days. I only look forward.” This is my first read by Elle Kennedy and it certainly won’t be my last, I just loved everything about this book and I cannot wait for Logan’s story. Unrequited love is a b***h and I cannot wait to see where his story is heading now that the girl he lusts for is most definitely taken.

Garrett & Wellsy 🫶🏼🤍
Why did I not start this series sooner??? I loved this booook! With this book, I became a hockey fan. This book made me look into this sport that I spent most of my childhood at hockey games – need to do it again next season. I am a bit hesitant to pick up a book when everyone is buzzing about it everywhere. But I’m glad that I read it and it wasn’t disappointing. The way I fell in love with both of the characters. Hannah, my sweet angel, at first had a huge crush on the football player Justin but then fell hard for Mr. Garrett Graham. And Garrett – he is THE best Off-Campus Guy ever! Garrett Graham was the captain of the hockey team, he was, of course, drop-dead gorgeous with ripped abs and a face that could melt anyone’s panty, and Hannah Wells the regular girl with a sordid past she was trying to outlive. It was a sure recipe for a good romance don’t you think? I loved how feisty Wellsy is. I loved her strong personality, and how she doesn’t back down from anything, I just had a little issue with her sometimes, there were moments, but it was easily overshadowed by her overall personality, so it was still okay. Garrett, on the other hand, is someone that is more than what meets the eye. He was not a dumb college boy, he was actually good in school, save for Ethics haha. He was a little cocky and maybe a little too good to be true. But I loved both of them, I love them so much I want to hug them haha. And I so love their banters! They are just so cute, I cannot even! The whole story was something I really enjoyed reading, I loved the set of friends both Hannah and Garrett have, they were all good people and good-looking. I love Hannah’s parents! But sometimes it was bordering unrealistic, but it was something I could live with. It tackles sensitive issues, but I loved how the author didn’t press too much on that subject, making things just easy and fun to read. This book was definitely a sweet surprise, I can’t simply swipe off that stupid smile on my face after I read the book. The dual POV was great and I especially enjoyed reading Garrett’s POV – He was such a funny character I loved him so much. Also, the way we got introduced to Garrett’s roommates – They all made me laugh out loud and I couldn’t wait to read their stories.
