The Six-Inch Audio Divorcing Tool for Cable Hoarders in Denial
I bought this six-inch Hosa Y-cable adapter because modern audio interfaces assume everyone lives in a pure, utopian digital environment, while my desk is an analog demilitarized zone. One stereo 1/4-inch jack goes in, two discrete mono female jacks come out. It doesn't negotiate; it takes a cohesive stereo signal and cleaves it straight down the middle like a stern judge dividing household assets during a messy divorce proceeding.Plugging this thick, molded plastic Y-splitter into my headphone output immediately flung me back to October 1996 in my buddy Craig’s garage. His band, Suburban Decay, was trying to record a four-song demo onto a TASCAM 4-track cassette recorder that smelled like soldering flux and stale Dr Pepper. We had one pair of over-ear monitor headphones and three people who desperately needed to hear the bass track. Craig produced a battered, tape-wrapped stereo Y-splitter from the bottom of an egg crate, jammed it into the board, and suddenly two of us were tethered to the mixing desk like hostage negotiators sharing a single phone line. That unmistakable, heavy-gauge rubber smell and the crisp thunk of a 1/4-inch jack seating into a spring-loaded socket is pure mid-90s garage-band DNA.At six inches, this cable is basically a stubborn rubber wishbone. The molded strain relief boots are color-coded—red for right, black for left—so even if you're squinting behind an equipment rack in the pitch black while holding a flashlight in your teeth, you won't accidentally swap your channels. The connection is tight enough that you practically need a crowbar to pull a patch cord back out, which means zero loose-jack crackle or sudden signal drops when someone trips over an instrument cord.It won't make your amateur guitar riffs sound like Abbey Road, but it splits stereo channels cleanly with zero audible ground hum or crosstalk.Rating: 4.8 out of 5 stars. Heavy molded strain relief, firm internal jack grip, and the ultimate quick fix when your gear has one stereo output and your workflow demands two separate mono feeds.

Standard studio-grade build, does exactly what it should
Hosa's a trusted name for a reason — solid connectors, no crackle or dropout splitting a stereo TRS signal to dual mono TS. 6" length is right for patch bay or interface-adjacent routing without excess cable clutter. Cheap insurance to have a spare on hand for any session.

Seems to work perfectly
This was abut the only one of these type of adapters I could find except a different one half the length and 1.6 ft is even pushing it for me so went with this one. As mentioned by other commenters it does come kinked but doesn't seem to be a problem, at least so far. I was skeptical as I use as high end cables as I possibly can and the skinny cables going to left and right on this doesn't look very thick like standard instrument cables do. But this is for a backup unit anyway and I compared straight in with a monster cable and then going out through this and couldn't tell a difference. I'm sure if i plugged it into my PC and tried it out with some meters I might be able to see a slight reduction in output but it sure wasn't noticeable to my ears and I consider myself having VERY good and picky ears. So I'm happy so far with this product

Well made. Works with HX Stomp expression pedal, footswitch inputs
Well made adapter. Works with the HX Stomp (and HX Stomp XL) dual expression pedal and footswitch input. TRS male to dual TS female plugs/ports/jacks. Red TS jack labeled "RING" and Black TS jack labeled "TIP". Cables between the connectors approximately 3.25 inches or 8.5 centimeters. And the ends are appx. 2.75 inches or 7 cm. Plastic ends are thick and sturdy. However they are 2x oversized in my opinion, twice as long as I would like the ends to be for my purpose. When using it with the HX Stomp the plug sticks out the back of the unit almost 3 inches, so it's not pedalboard friendly but fine for studio. Would rather have a right angled TRS male Jack with a low profile and compact casing. Or one using standard metal jacks, right angle Male TRS to 2 female TS. This is most the affordable of this type adapter and it is well made for the money.

tight bend in the packaging
I have appreciated and trusted Hosa for decades because of the quality and selection. This item arrived as advertised and on time. The Hosa packaging was a bit small, though, resulting in severe bending of the wire right at the output jacks and I'm concerned of issues in the near future. Sorry, I should have taken a photo.

Great stereo accessory for combining left and right outputs into a single stereo input.
Perfect for running dual stereo outputs into a single input.

TRS Stereo to TS L/R mono spltter
Good quality, exceeds other brands

Will not split electric drums
WILL NOT WORK WITH ROLAND E-DRUMS AS DRUM SPLITTER. Has other uses maybe but not for e drums.. is a 2 pack so it is good value if you have other intentions for a stero to mono splitter

Very Useful For Connecting XLR to 1/4 Inch Connection
I've got a Roland electronic keyboard, where the speakers are located under the keyboard. I wanted the sound to be pointing anywhere but down. I had a pair of passive speakers doing nothing, so I purchased an amplifier, some banana plugs for the speaker wires and two XLR to 1/4 inch cables and this Hosa YPP-117 cable. I simply plugged in the Hosa cable to the 1/4 inch connection on the piano, plugged the XLR part's of the other cables in the correct left right configuration into the amplifier, then plugged the 1/4 inch plug's into the Hosa YPP-117, connected to the keyboard. Fired up the amplifier and hey presto, sound from above not below. Bypasses any other complicated processes.

Clear signal and quality build
Does exactly what it should with no noise or interference. Build quality is solid, and connectors fit snug. Great for splitting stereo signals to two mono channels in audio setups.
