Perfect for my application
My house has speakers throughout and on the back deck. It’s all controlled from the stereo in the house. Before I could either switch the stereo to inside the house.(every room.) or the back deck only. With this device, I am able to play music in whatever room or area it’s needed. Well worth the money.

Great speaker selector for the price
This suited my needs perfectly. Recently bough a house that had speakers wired to 7 different zones (main den, kitchen, living room, dining room, front porch, back deck and upstairs bathroom). Bought a Sony STRDN1060 receiver that has a powered zone 2 output. I use the main den (tv room) through zone 1 in a 5.1 configuration. I then run the zone 2 to this speaker selector. This then allows me to individually turn on/off any of the other zones (once zone 2 is activated on my receiver). Works perfectly for my setup, no problems. Comes with lots of stickers so it is easy to label. Construction seems rugged. Very happy and would purchase again.

Function over form
So far so good for this unit. It does what it's supposed to, switches independent Pairs of sound to 6 zones.Reasons why only 4 stars:No bullet style quick disconnects on the rear, old school shove the wire in the hole method.Degraded sound quality when running multiple zones. I haven't placed a meter on it yet to see what the drop is per zone, but I can hear it degrade when only running 2 zones. The description and instructions say there's a button to push which will "protect" the amp when running multiple zones but the only button other than zone switches is a "single pair direct button". This allows for full power to a single pair of speakers I'm assuming, the instructions weren't clear. I guess when this button is disengaged there is amp protection???No power supply to the unit. If there was some other forms of signal quality protection or monitoring from a powered source that'd be awesome. But, this is a simple cheap switch and doesn't really need more than it has for the average guy.Pros:AffordableLow profileSame size as reciever so it sits on top nicelyIt came with some stickers to label each zone, that was pretty cool.Overall I am pleased. I paid very little for something that makes my life so much easier. Before this, I was unplugging my back patio speakers in and out and replacing them with my garage speakers and back and forth and back and forth. I looked into building my own switch, but this was actually cheaper and now I can run 4 zones in my house and keep my receiver in the workshop which is a plus. I'd have given it 5 stars if it had banana style positive and negative hookups in the back.I would buy it again, and would recommend it to anyone running simple indoor outdoor speakers on a patio or in the garage like me, and eventually wanting to add a few more zones for low volume background music for the wife's dinner parties and get togethers.I hope you found this review helpful. Good luck, and don't hesitate to ask me any questions about this switch.Update: it's been about 5 months now and nothing has changed since initial review. Still going strong and works like a champ. 100% happy with my purchase.

Great! Enabled me to hook up my entire downstairs to one system.
Connected my entire downstairs to this which in turn is connected to a Sonos Connect.Amp. Perfect sound through out the entire house. Enabled me to hook everything up for a moderate cost. I also love the ability to deselect speakers from the front. I also didn't notice a difference in sound. Great product.Super easy to setup.

They work great. The switch has an impedence protector mode
I am currently running only 2 speakers off this switch. They work great. The switch has an impedence protector mode. It does hold up to 16g wire. clips for the wire connection work great. inputs and outputs are color coded on the unit. It works great and allows plenty of room for expansion.

Nonfunctional straight out of the box
Didn’t work straight out of the box. We had a tech come out because we thought we set it up wrong. Just spent lots of $$ and ended up with a different product

Excellent Product
Neat little product that does the job as mentioned. I use it to control 7 speakers from zone 2 output of my Yamaha receivers. Allows me to control music in different areas. Good bang for the buck. I used 16g wire as I'm guessing 14g would be hard to get in those tiny slots.

Great value item for patio speakers
I set mine up with 6 Yamaha Patio speakers (2 per zone, leaving me 3 open zones for future). Easy easy easy. If you know your way around stereo equipment (and you should, if you're buying this anyway), then you already know what a simple set up this is. For $32, this is a steal. I'll upgrade to the volume controlled zone version later, but this works great for now.
