Drys quick and looks great
Easy to use and looks great. I used it to seal and stain my outdoor stairs and it looks nice. Also used it for a wire reel that I am making into an outdoor table.

Good coverage
This stain is the real deal, my shed was in desperate need of stain, this did the job. I’m going to second coat it just because of how long I waited to do it.

The Only Brand Stain You Need!....so we thought initially....
Easy to apply with brush. Beautiful color. Stained 4x4 pressure treated fence posts as we are building privacy fence. Will also stain trim and post caps as it is built. No runs, uniform color and brings out wood grain nicely. This will be the only brand stain that we will use for all our exterior wood staining needs. Great Product! Update Spring 2018: After one year stain has faded. Applied 3 coats to pressure treated fence posts and trim boards about one year ago. Grant it, wood is exposed to direct Sun all day long But we expected stain to last more than one year. Company claims that stain should last 3 to 5 years, well not even close. Not happy that we have to reapply it again this year. Will probably switch to a different brand. Also additional cans we purchased had a reddish tint not dark walnut and we even mixed multiple cans together for color consistency. So one side of fence is more of a light to medium brown and the other side is red like a mahogany color. Not what we wanted at all! So we have to downgrade our rating to 2 stars.

Do not purchase if you live in Texas
This product, will only last at most a year when it is applied on a deck vertical surface, if exposed to full sun in the hot Texas summer weather. If you do not mind reapplying each year, then it is an easy product to use. I had high hopes of it working, but I’ve tried it two years in the row with the same results. I emailed the company, and they said once it is purchased from Amazon, they are unable to provide a refund if unhappy with the product.

Great stain
Ok, so I have 4 instead of 5 stars because other reviewers were right, this is not the same color as what is shown on the can, so I went back and forth a lot on whether to risk the purchase or not. With that being said, I absolutely love the color! It’s not as dark as is advertised, but is actually the exact color that I envisioned that I wanted to begin with, so it all worked out. It’s beautiful. Make sure you shake the can well, and continue to give it a good stir every so often as you’re working to keep the color well mixed. It was very easy to use, just make sure that you either catch the drips with your brush, or wipe them up with a rag. It’s does take a very long time to dry, especially depending on the coolness and moisture in the air. I absolutely recommend this product.

Soaks into wood; best stain I've ever used!
I used the walnut stain on my wood privacy fence after having used several other stains over the years. I first used a prohibitively expensive Sherwin-Williams stain (expensive must equal awesome, right?) that sat on the surface of the wood only and faded by the end of the first year to the point that I wanted to restain. I went to the other end of the spectrum and bought the cheapest stain I could find (expensive didn't work, and if I have to stain every year or every other year, it's going to need to be cheap!) and bought Thompson's Water Seal stain. It worked about the same as the Sherwin-Williams: it sat on the surface, rubbed and scratched off easily, and needed re-staining after one year of rain, sun, and snow. I finally tried Ready-Seal (now I feel like Goldilocks on my 3rd choice -- and it was just right!) Ready-Seal applied differently, so I immediately knew it was better. The other stains applied looking thicker and like chocolate milk. Ready-Seal was more transparent and seemed to soak in immediately like an oil rather than sit on the surface like a coating. It did fade over the 14 days from an extremely dark brown to a more medium brown. 3 years later, it is still looking good. I applied it over an old gray fence and it made it look like new lumber! I will always use Ready-Seal now.
