48" x 100' Double Bubble Reflective Foil Insulation

The extra layer makes all the difference. This summer was much easier on the electric bill than last, $300 easier. We live in North Carolina. The only insulation in our attic was shredded paper and cardboard. Now we can work in our home office when temperatures reach well into the 90's. The A/C can keep up. We also noticed an instant difference in the heating performance on cold, early spring days. I installed ours across the roof studs with a staple gun and utility knife. Just be sure that air can circulate a little bit. I left gaps along the peak of the roof. Your attic still needs to breathe a little.

Pretty thin layers of bubble, so that its more like single bubble. Also, the layers of aluminum on each side is actually plasticized metallic coating of some sort. Good way to know if this stuff works well is to put your palm flat a few inches away from the material. The degree of warmth you feel radiating back to your hand is a measure of how well it works. With this test, it appears that there is some radiant effect, and that at least the plasticized metallic coating must have at least some aluminum in it. The double bubble does assure that there's an isolated air pocket across the entire surface of the material; however, since the two layer of bubbles are pretty thin, it's not great insulation. It's best purpose is as a vapor barrier, attic radiant foil across rafters, or as an isolation barrier in a hydronic radiant heat space between the floor joists. For the later project, for joists 6" or deeper, it's best to wrap between and around/under the joists, then use aluminum tape to seal the radiant space, so that it you isolate the joists to within the living space. So radiant space is about 1-2", Leaving 3-1/2 inch space or more for conventional glass batt insulation. Layer plastic sheeting across the floor joists to seal in the glass insulation. Then, if this is a finished basement, sheetrock can be screwed to the joists, such that the double bubble and plastic sheeting provides a thin layer of insulation isolating the sheetrock from the joints.

Super lightweight and durable. I lined my cooler with this and was amazed at how it more than quadrupled the time my food stayed cold, as if it just came out of the fridge. Then I lined a window in my house with it to keep the Southern sun from heating up the room and it kept the room 20 degrees cooler. Makes an awesome stadium or camp seat. Am thinking it would make a super nice ground pad under a sleeping bag, too.

I used this to insulate all the windows in my rv.. I did not notice any difference in temperature.

We are using this to cover the windows in our RV. Works perfectly. Easy to cut to shape and definitely keeps the heat transfer through the windows into the trailer down allowing our AC units to work better. I didn't need a whole roll but it was cheaper than buying individual pieces for the 14 windows in my 5ht wheel.

Have found many uses for the product and all have worked well. Insulating water tanks, wind stop, moisture barrier etc.
