Why would you not use this
I get it, cheaper priced filters are tempting. But just imagine how expensive it would be when the cheapies come apart and mess up a injector or injector pump. Delco is the only way to go, with factory setup.

Fixed air leak from slowly causing fuel to drain back to the fuel tank
At or about the 150,000 mile point on the Filter Head assembly, the assembly will start to allow Air to enter the fuel line through the Pump or the Heater connection on top of the Assembly. When vehicle sits for a day or more, the diesel fuel will Drain back to the fuel tank. When you try to restart the vehicle after some period (a day or more), the engine will run for a few seconds , then it will not restart. If you then do a fuel Prime procedure using the pump on top of the defective assembly, it will restart. This will tell you that the filter assembly is defective. It’s best just to buy a brand new assembly with new filter as opposed to rebuilding the head with a kit, and then buying the filter separately.

Not exactly what it appears to be
This is a GM filter but not a GM filter adapter. I feel like this was a bit misleading and not telling you the whole description. GM filter but aftermarket filter adapter is how it should read. I guess I'll find out how good it is. 😌

Works on the 2003 LB7 with 4’ of new fuel line (not included)
I purchased this after reading it would work on my 2003 if I rerouted the fuel lines. After a struggle, I realized the outlet side needs to run DOWN then loop back up through the original pathway to avoid kinking. Get about 4-5’ of 1/2” ID fuel line and maybe the mounting spacer to make it easier to change the filter later. It also would make the inlet side hose easier to put on. I wish I had bought one. I also found out after I was done that there is a kit that completely relocates it to the drivers side front for super a easy filter swap! I’ll look into that one if I ever have trouble with this again.

Great fix for fuel filter head and an easy install
Came complete with filter and wiring as shown in picture. The filter alone is about $30. Only needed to remove the old head and filter and replace it with this one. This was on a 2008 Silverado HD LMM. You take of/unplug 2 12 MM Bolts, 2 wire plugs using a small screwdriver to loosen the keepers, and 2 hoses which require a bit of finagling with pliers to get the clams to move off of the flare It was not necessary but provided easier access to remove the air intake hose above the fuel filter head and to take off the wheel well skirt. I am sure I could have found the right angel on the hose clamps and electric plugs without removing them but the air intake only requires loosening two clamps and the fender shirt is a few pop outs and some screws. Do not forget to loosen the prime screw before pumping the prime plunger or you will need to replace or rebuilt the head when you blow the seals. I know from experience how that can/will happen :)

Fixed My Issue
I was having issues with air getting in the fuel line and having to prime filter every time I started the truck. I replaced all O-rings with O-ring kit, but did not fix issue. Replacing the housing fixed the problem! EXCELLENT OEM product. Would definitely recommend.

Definitely recommend.
I’m not a mechanic but after reading up on why my duramax was losing prime and hard starting in the cold I decided to replace my filter head. This resolved my problem. Would definitely recommend this as an inexpensive start if your having the same issues.
