Is this good to use for a strie paint effect?

I would think this would work great for the effect you want. I haven’t ever done this type of painting but I feel this brush would be perfect in my opinion. Thanks.

What is it made out of?

The handle is hard plastic, I would think the bristle is a type of plastic as well. It didn't scratch or tear but it's stiff.

Use for applying contact paper?

usually used for wallpapering. never used for contact paper, but if you slowly unroll the paper while smoothing down with brush, i don't see why it wouldn't work. this helps!
