Great
Great sounding pedal. I combine with reverb to beef up my clean tone.

Great in stereo!
It’s a great pedal for anything between traditional always-on chorus to seasick vibrato. It shines in stereo. If you don’t use a stereo rig, I’d go for her younger sister Julia, but if stereo is you’re thing, this pedal is superb!

IMPORTANT: Hiss/noise when in FX Loop, "designed to go in front of amp"
Are you planning on running in front of amp or FX loop? My soundfloor (or noise level) was doubled when this pedal was engaged in FX loop. I contacted Walrus, and after a few tests they had me do, they said this: "This could very well be the nature of the Julianna and the way it is jiving with the FX loop. It was designed with the intention of running it into a front input on an amp! I am sorry for any inconvenience this may cause, let me know if you have any other questions or issues!" To which my response was: "That is rough, Alex! It would have been a much needed disclaimer in the product information that it was designed as FOA, as I know many guitarists who exclusively run time based effects behind the preamp with myself included. It is a nice sounding pedal, but I think I would have pursued other options for my needs if I'd known this information of it being a FOA pedal and about the noise level produced when used in a conventional FX loop." So here is your much needed disclaimer that Walrus appears to have omitted from all of their descriptions about the Julianna from what I have been able to find. This pedal was designed to go front of amp direct to input, (FOA), and produces substantial hiss that interacts with the blinking LED and lag + DCV knobs exaggerate the noise level, and there is pedal pop all in FX loop configuration. Also to mention is that these issues are exaggerated and goes from bad to worse when the Lag or DCV knobs are on anything but 0, (which isn't a very good sound with them at 0). It forces the user to consciously choose between tone and clarity, and you can't have both with this pedal ran in your FX loop. Sonically, it sounds very nice. It isn't as versatile imo as the Gemini by Source Audio, but that one has a phaser swoosh that can't be avoided even with the highly tweakable application sound editor, (regardless of what someone had said in a review). The tones the Julianna are capable of producing are quite pleasant, if you plan on using it FOA. The features like 2nd LFO rate control, the functionality of the 3 way switches, and the drift function are all intriguing and add much value. Rather it is worth the price comes down to your personal setup, if you plan on running it FOA vs FX loop, and how much the extra noise issues will bother you if ran in FX loop. When in front of the amp, the noise level is quiet and no pedal pop, and the lag and DCV knobs are able to be used at max with no perceived additional noise to my ears! After adjusting my stereo setup to compensate for having it FOA vs FX loop, it is a very enjoyable experience! I hope this review has saved you time that it would have certainly saved me! Disclaimer: The Julianna in my picture is the gold version, don't let that confuse you. It is the same circuit as the standard! My rating score on a scale of 1-10 for this pedal: 6 ran in FX loop | 8.5 ran FOA

Great Pedal
Looks beautiful, and has a lot of functions that I am still exploring, I use it with a blues boss pedal and a loop pedal to record chorus and blues on low gain (used a bit like a preamp kinda thing) on low volume in a gretsch 5655tg and then increase the gain on the blues to solo on top of the chorus, love the groove so far

Sound is ok
The sound is warm. It is not bright enough in my opinion. I I think that it could use a tone knob. The tap tempo feature is excellent. It is a high quality pedal, but the price tag is a bit high for what you get. I imagine the new Walrus modulation pedal takes care of some of the things this pedal is lacking.

Design is great, sound is great, perfect purchase.
Best chorus pedal I’ve played. The expression input and options make it very useful. Remember to read the instructions for how to configure. There are dip switches inside the case that need to be switched to the correct setting. Sounds amazing, looks amazing, solid purchase.

Dang i love this thing. So many options. Easily my favorite pedal. From the aesthetic to the sound features itself. This pedal sounds so pretty. Recommend checking any YouTube demos for the extras on what it does. Totally worth it.
