Galco SAO Single Action Outdoorsman Holster for Ruger .357 Blackhawk 4 5/8-Inch

Ruger NMBH Bisley Flattop 44 SPL (Lipsey's), midsize frame. 4 5/8" barrel. Fits like a glove ! Great design for crossdraw or strong-side carry. Craftsmanship looks great, new leather smell is fantastic, fills the whole room ! Very happy with this holster.

This holster is full leather, beautiful finish and heavy duty stitches. After measuring the barrel of my revolver from the cylinder to muzzle I ordered the applicable caliber and it fits perfectly. My Pietta .357 is a nearly exact match to a Colt 1873. I would definitely buy again. Shipped fast and arrived undamaged.

Great quality and it does accommodate a taller front sight. My gun is the .45 Colt with the 4.62 inch barrel. The factory had to install their tallest front sight to bring my POA POI down to where it should be with ordinary 250-255 grain cast slugs. The factory really should make this gun with the taller sight. So having said this, the holster inserted very tightly. You will have to loosen the tension screw until the revolver goes in just short of reaching the end of the holster. Then snug the screw down until its very snug. This should stretch the leather to accommodate the front sight. It will take a couple days. I love this holster. Great quality for the price. I like the cross draw option, which makes sense when packing a long gun in your right hand. The gun is secure yet accessible.

This holster really compliments the Blackhawk .357. Very classy look. I have owned many Galco Holsters, some over 20 years that are still going strong. It's expensive but it's as good of quality as you can get. Would have given it a five but when the firearm is fully seated it protrudes about a 1/4 of an inch out of the bottom of the holster. I alleviated it somewhat by tightening the tension screw.

Looked for months for a holster that would allow me to comfortably and securely carry my Ruger Blackhawk while hiking or trail riding and yet not require a co-signer to purchase. The multi-position capability of the Galco SAO seemed to have the attributes I needed and Amazon's pricing made it too good a deal to pass up. The holster proved to be everything I hoped it would be: 1) great design; 2) quality workmanship and finish; 3) fits my Ruger as if custom made; 4) presents the revolver grip in a natural position in relation to my hand for easy access and a smooth draw for both strong side and cross draw carry; 5) carried on a 1.75" harness leather belt, the holster holds the revolver close to the body in a manner that precludes excess motion and allows it to be carried for extended periods of time without the lower back fatigue that can come from carrying heavy hardware on your belt; 6) excellent value!

I got this for my Ruger Super Blackhawk 4&5/8" 44 magnum. It fits perfectly! The leather is of the typical outstanding quality I expect from Galco and it looks great. I settled on this particular holster because of it being adaptbable for strong side or crossdraw carry. Works great in either position. I'm very happy with my purchase.

Excellent quality. I have a few Galco products, and all are high quality. This SAO holster fit my Ruger Flattop 44spc perfectly! Nice fit and finish.
