Great Buttermilk Substitute!
As a passionate cook, Hoosier Hill Farm Buttermilk Powder has been a fantastic addition to my pantry. This high-quality powder is versatile and convenient. I can whip up delicious recipes without worrying about fresh buttermilk on hand. I’m a senior citizen, and in earlier days, I could readily purchase fresh buttermilk from the grocery store. Today, that is not the case. So, because I like fluffy pancakes and savory cornbread for family gatherings, this buttermilk powder adds that perfect tangy flavor every time. It dissolves quickly and has a long shelf life. Whether I’m experimenting in the kitchen or sharing recipes, this product has been a reliable and flavorful choice.

Wish I'd bought this sooner!
I ordered it just over a month and it's almost gone, to my astonishment and dismay.I use it for baking: Breads, rolls, naan, english muffins, regular muffins, pancakes. It's great!! I was wowed by homemade english muffins. They rose higher and were lighter & softer than ones made with regular buttermilk or yoghurt. The naan had similar results--bigger bubbles with a light, soft interior.Baking with this stuff has given consistently good to excellent results.

Interesting Add-in for Cooking
I saw this product mentioned in a magazine article. I bought it because I'd never heard of powdered buttermilk. Interestingly, I almost immediately needed it when a recipe I was making required buttermilk, and I didn't have any. The resulting tastes and flavors of using this product were more buttery and milky than I expected relative to what I knew from past buttermilk experience. The results exhibited less sourness and complexity than from regular fermented buttermilk, but the overall impact of the differences were minor. This product is a good way to (kinda) incorporate buttermilk characteristics into your recipes, though actual buttermilk is somewhat better. Recommended.

Pantry Staple for Bakers and Home Cooks!
The media could not be loaded. I’ve been using this buttermilk powder for a while now, and it’s officially earned a permanent spot in my pantry. It mixes easily with water—no clumps—and gives that classic tangy flavor you expect from real buttermilk.I mainly use it for baking pancakes, muffins, and marintaing chicken and the results are always delicious. It’s also great for making homemade dressings. What I love most is the convenience—no more running to the store or worrying about fresh buttermilk going bad in the fridge. The resealable jar keeps it fresh, and it lasts a long time.

Hoosier Hill Farm Buttermilk & Whole Milk Powder
For several years I've purchased Hoosier Hill Farms whole milk powder that I use for baking & cooking, so decided to try their buttermilk powder. Both are great! The container is solid, easy to open & heavy duty. The directions are clearly on the side. Best, these powdered milk powders dissolve instantly & never clumpy or pasty. The taste is so good in the whole milk powder that once when I was sick & couldn't get to the store, mixed a gallon up, refilled the milk jug & kids never said a word! I'd tried that in the past with other brands & my kids ALWAYS said, "Mom, the milks bad! It tastes funny!" Also, the powder has never clumped up in the container. I actually bought a large sack of the whole milk powder & refill the container. Love these two products. Have tried other brands, but this is my favorite & very competitively priced!

Great little secret!
I think this is the perfect way to add buttermilk to a recipe. I used it to make banana bread, following the directions on the can exactly. The bread was delicious - it was a new recipe, so I think that was partly why - but it stayed perfectly moist without getting soggy for days. Wow.
