Lovely for first birthday
Bought as a gift my 1 year old niece. Was an instant hit. Great for developing fine motor skills putting the pegs in and out. She enjoys the hammer too and her accuracy will develop! Lovely quality as always from this brand. Good size for a gift and for in home.

Absolutely Fantastic!!!
I bought this for my grandsons first birthday and he absolutely loves it! The care given to its design and manufacture are amazing and the packaging is so lovely, it even came with a lovely card with the name of the person on it that packed it. Overall I am extremely pleased with this product and shall buy more products made by this company in the future.

Not as good as the 1970’s version
My children had something like this when they were small and I wanted the same for my grandchild. The one my children had the pegs were quite a tight fit, so after bashing them all through, you could turn it over and start again. With this modern version, the pegs are so loose that they just fall out. Rather disappointed.

Great Fun and Good Quality
My little one has had this for almost 6 months now, and he still comes back to play with it every day. The design is really simple, but the bright colours make it fun and interactive. The overall quality is very good, sturdy and well made. Considering that he’s hammered it every day for 6 months, the colours and paintwork hasn’t chipped or tarnished at all, which is great. Brilliant little gift, sure to delight any little ones!

Do not buy - choking hazard - very dangerous!
We bought 2 of these for children’s birthdays and both have fallen apart. The end part on both has come away leaving the wooden poles exposed. These would be a choking hazard for children. The holes for the dowel pins are way too big so it seems this problem will always happen regardless. As well as both having the sides fall off, on one of them the hammer has come away. It’s a good product that reminds us of our childhood but it’s evidently not made as well as in the 80s.Shame on Jaques for creating a product that is dangerous to children and inferior to its predecessors.

Good presentation but poor engineering
This item is clearly pitched as a premium toy with its flashy packaging and lovely paint job. What a shame the engineering of the item does not match the look. The pegs are of variable size and a couple drop through the holes without banging and spoil what would otherwise be a great addition to the toy box. I resisted the temptation to return the item and I will tape the offending pegs to make them fit the holes. I do hope that Jacques gets their quality control sorted.
