Another Great Knife From Mercer
I was turned on to Mercer knives years ago from a teacher who taught cooking classes. I asked what was a good knife that wouldn't break the bank and she said, for all her new students she refers them to the Mercer knives. I bought my first one for around $22 and it's been going for years now and holds a great edge. I have much more expensive knives now and the Mercer still gets used just as much. This one is no different. Super sharp right out of the packaging and a great feel.If you are looking for a great low cost chef knives, i highly recommend the Mercer line. You wont be disappointed

Great Value
I won't claim to be a knife expert.... but for the price of the knife it performs perfectly when cutting meat, trimming roasts, brisket, etc. So far it's maintained it's edge, although not using it daily. Just as sharp out of the box as a knife 5X+ the cost. Would buy again simply because it's a great value - heck, buy 5 of them and I'll have a sharp, useful knife for years to come.Only con I have: does not come with a case/sheath.

Great grip on a sharp knife
Phew, this thing is SHARP. We're talking hot knife through butter when cutting around the bone in a Boston butt. Good rubbery grip. For the price, I don't know if you could get a better slicing knife like it. (I paid 15$. Some colors are cheaper than others)

Dull out of the box too thick
This was probably the dullest knife I've purchased in the last 10 years. You definitely wouldn't want to try cutting and boning any meat before a serious sharpening session. It's not a big deal, for me, as I've got a Worksharp blade grinder, but if you're expecting to actually use it straight out of the packaging, you'll be seriously disappointed. The other issue I've got is the thickness of the spine. I'm using this to trim pork butt, brisket and such before smoking and the thickness of the blade creates some serious drag when slicing through harder thick fat like the deckle fat of a brisket. The handle is quite comfortable and provides a good grip and control.
