So far so good.- value rod
I got mine sept 2020 and am looking to buy more. I hope they did not change quality. Looking at all the 1 star reviews. I took it fishing in california, montana, arizona and belize. Yes the tip is super bendy allowing some fish to set themselves free - pike and bonefish will get off easily. It performs beautifully as long as you don’t try to set the hook like a maniac. Small and big mouth bass, porgy, trout, catfish, bluegill, snapper. Had some snags where I had to yank the lure, hook out of rocks and branches - still works. Aligning the guides takes a while to get used to but gets easier with practice. I also have the blqckhawk which has free floating guides. That is a pain to align. That one has the guides fixed to each segment. It will not replace a fast action or a deep sea fishing rod- you will not be able to catch swordfish with it. But in a pinch, it works. And is fun. Because of the bendy tip you feel uthe fight. I wish kastking would send me some of their products for review. Or at least the missing buttcap - haha I travel a lot. Will be ordering another one and will update here on how it goes. Pros: Portability - can have one in the car all the time Reliable so far Nice feel in hand Light Cons: It takes a little while to get used to casting accurately because of the bendy tip Lost the buttcap No other cons. I enjoy fishing with this rod.

Compact, durable, and very convenient !
Awesome rod! Compacts small enough to take on my hiking trips for those opportunistic fishing streams I find, and it cast smooth. Also great for keeping in the truck in case you find that special honey hole at an old country farm! It’s lightweight but yet very durable and seems like it will last a while.

Pole snapped, but seller replaced!
I am an avid fisherman who just bought this combo for my current smallmouth bass wading trip to the Missouri Ozarks. I hooked a small one and I heard it snap and sure enough the pole broke about 2” from the tip. I’m very disappointed. I am a fan of Kast King products and have a baitcaster that is great. I also just bought a Kast King sling tackle bag that works great! The reel on this one is fine, but the pole failed downstream after me having walked about a half mile down river, and I had to abandon the day. I hope Kast King will make this right and send me a new one. I like the combo, but I can only rate it one star at present. Update: 7/18/2023 Still no word from the seller or KastKing on offering a replacement pole! Update: 7/19/2023 Seller sent a message saying a replacement rod has been shipped. Thank you!

Great while it lasted...6 months. Kastking won't honor their "lifetime" warranty.
Barely got six months out of it and the tip broke off. And the warranty on this thing sucks. No more KastKing for me. Update 12/15/25: Contacted KastKing again for a replacement rod. Will let everyone know if they take care of me or not. Update 12/19/25: Heard back from KastKing today. They're telling me that my rod only has a 1 year warranty when it clearly states on their website that "KastKing rods are covered by a limited lifetime, total peace of mind warranty against the workmanship and materials of the rod for the original owner." So once again, they are giving me the runaround. But they did offer to give me 10% off my next rod purchase. LOL. Update 12/22/25: Received from Kastking today--> We are sorry, but your rod is beyond repair. Our standard warranty is one year. If you would like to proceed with a warranty claim for the rod, you will need to pay a fee of half of the original purchase price plus a $20 shipping and handling fee. Please let me know if you have any questions. Regards, Winnie ------------------------------ Very sad that a "reputable" company like KastKing will not honor their limited, lifetime warranty. So no more KastKing for me, and I will tell everyone in my circle of fishing buddies, stay away from KastKing if you value a quality product with the highest level of integrity to back it up. Sadly, that's not KastKing.

Lightweight, solid, and fits in tackle box
Just got this a couple of days ago and haven't gone fishing yet cause of the weather. However I did put a reel on it and did some practice casting. I got this for convenience as sometimes I want to grab a rod and couple of lures and not bring all my rods and gear along or when I want an extra rod this one is easy to carry and can put it in the tackle box. It feels solid and the telescoping opens and closes with no issues and is very lightweight.

Nice Rod - But the Tip Guard/Protector Needs Improvement
I bought the 6 ft version. Have not had a chance to fish with it, but it seems like it's well made. Bought to use with my Zebco Omega Pro closed faced reel. I like the extra length of handle that is between the end butt and grip. The grip is more narrow that other rods I'm used to, and I guess they made it small because it's a compact rod. It comes with a plastic tip holder that helps to protect the eyes and tips of the rod, and sort of helps prevents the rod from extending by itself, which is a great idea, but this rod tip protector needs much improvement. Will update after use this fall. WARRANTY - be aware the warranty is not what it appears to be - reading the details reveals there are out of pocket expenses - at the end of the day the warranty is nothing to get excited about which is too bad in today's economy of building things cheap and disposable.

Works great. I use it on my motorcycle.
This is a pretty good teloscopic fishing rod.I have used it several times and it seems to hold up well and is actually pretty sensitive, for what it is. Great for Packing on my motorcycle.
