These are simply the best spice grinders I have ever used! They can adjust from a very coarse grind to a very fine powder grind, easily.They are ceramic, conical burr, grinders with a stainless steel exterior, and glass bottoms. The grinders move easily with little use of force. Easy on arthritic hands.They can be put through the dishwasher, if you open up the grinders to the most coarse ( most open) position, so that the water will successfully dry.The grinders stand just under 5.5 inches tall. The glass bottom is 3 inches tall, and the very bottom is 2.5 inches wide.This grinder set came with a flexible, black, silicone decorative tray to set them on. To be honest, I don't use it. If I kept the set on the table, I probably would, but since I use them near the stove and I need every bit of room I can get, I don't use the tray.These grinders can handle pretty much anything you can stuff into them...maybe not nuts, but I haven't tried nuts....YET. Peppercorns, hot pepperflakes, minced onion, sunflower seeds. Celtic Sea Salt, cardamom pods...all do beautifully in this grinder.I would happily recommend this grinder set. It is small, but still holds a good amount of spices (8oz) and doesn't take up a lot of space. Look a nice, too!

They grate real well and the past ones I had didn't last long. Hope these do.

The Modetro Salt and Pepper Grinder Set is stylish, solidly constructed, and a great value. The glass salt and pepper chambers hold much more than my old salt and pepper mills. The ceramic grinders sit on top of the glass jars in stainless steel housings. Since the grinders are on top, they do not "leak" salt and pepper onto my countertops. The stainless steel caps are easy to remove before grinding. Further, the set of two grinders sits in a a beautiful black tray purpose-built for two grinders.I tried one grinder with very coarse Himalayan pink salt and the other with whole black pepper. The grinder is easy to turn and easy to aim at the food you're seasoning. The only drawback is adjusting the salt grinder's particle size. It was easy to set using the clear markings under the cap, though sometimes the setting changed after I started grinding. Otherwise, I would rate this set a "5."

These feel great in the hand and are well-made and sturdy. I mostly use the one in which I have sea salt. It works great, and is a pleasure to use each and every time. Great design! All the moving parts are still moving effortlessly, there is a wide range of grind size available, and the tension is right to keep your setting from changing when you turn the grinder. The materials are of excellent quality, as there is no sign of rust or tarnish on the steel, and the glass feels unlikely to chip or break. After using them for a year, there is no discernable sign of wear, and I happily anticipate that I will be able to continue using my Modetro Salt and Pepper Shakers for years to come.

This salt and pepper shaker set is very lovely and well-made. It's easy to open tops and hold a lot of salt and pepper. They come out on top (top opening) so no more mess on the counter. It’s easy to clean as well. We're pleased with the adjustable grind on these, the coarseness stays where you set it, and the salt doesn't clog.

The perfect all-round grater? I’ve probably used dozens of graters over the years, and these are the best. Easy to use, easy to adjust grate size, comfortable in the hand, good amount of grate, and looks good. Clear glass shows fingerprints but cleans easily. Great product at a good price, and well made.

I had 2 for over a year (battery with no grind adjustment) and I was never really satisfied. When one broke after dropping, I wanted a set that had adjustable grinding and would work with various size salt and pepper.So far this one works great. For the salt I used the medium size Salt (that never worked in the other grinder) with some salt that I had ground up using a food processor - and surprise this work great - some did come out more than I expected but that was probably the salt that was already ground. So I will use up this Himalayan Pink Salt before using the Coarse I have purchased. You do have to reset the grind knob on top each time you use it - but is really not a problem because I will be checking each time I use it anyway.And the peppercorns are beautiful. So I remain a lover of fresh ground pepper & salt.

This product gets a 3 rating because one of the grinders stopped working. I've used this product for a few years now and loved it until the peppermill stopped grinding. The manufacturer had even sent 2 replacement white parts with my product but I tried both of these and it still did not grind. There seems to be a defect in the grinder that is not fixed by the replacement white part. I tried to contact Modetro through their website but wasn't able to locate a contact email or phone number. I'd be happy with a replacement top piece (the entire top, not just the white plastic grinder element) because otherwise the grinders work like a charm. The salt grinder has lasted well into my 3rd year of use without any issues.
