My favorite (high-end) sheet masks -- absolutely worth the money
These masks are pricey, but they are 100% worth it:I discovered 111Skin Y Theorem sheet masks at the height of the pandemic, mid-2020. I was consistently anxious, tired, and a few times, jet-lagged. I was experiencing everything from stress-induced breakouts to textural problems to enlarged pores and dark circles under/around my eyes. A friend who is a dermatological researcher told me these are wonderful for just about any skin issue -- but particularly for stressed skin. . .These masks are not only soothing (I like to keep them in the refrigerator for a chilly 'cryo' effect) but, over the course a few weeks (using them 2-3 times per week), I actually began to notice longer-term effects than I'd ever gotten from a sheet mask. Almost immediately, my skin tone became more even. Directly after I use a mask, I get a pleasant 'rosy' glow and my skin is more dewey and supple. They are pretty easy to put on, although the bio-cellulose is very thin and might take a time or two to get used to.What's special about Y Theorem masks is both the ingredients and the form of delivery (the 'second skin'-like gel-feel of the masks ensures better penetration of the actives, which are great -- biomimetic peptides, antioxidants, ectoin, etc). Immediately, you benefit from dramatic hydration but after several weeks of use, you'll notice better tone, tightness, smaller pore size, and help with acne. There's an instant gratification factor with these that separates them from most sheet masks -- and that is the chief reason I've been using them for over five years. (And, I'm guessing, why they're such popular pre-red carpet go-tos for celebrities. ) My protocol: I like to use the 111: Y Theorem Masks in the evening for about 45 minutes (my opinion: the 20-minute suggested use doesn't quite take full advantage of each mask and these are pretty expensive, so if I have the time, I double-up on how long I wear them. Because they're calming and not abrasive, there's no harm in wearing them a bit longer than directed). Then, I put on a serum/moisturizer, go to bed, and wake up to a reset face in the morning (glowing skin, minimized pores, more even skin tone -- my face often even appears more contoured). I rub the excess serum from each packet over a cleansed/toned face -- again, doing my best to maximize their potential, as the quality of the ingredients is extremely high.If you're on the fence about these, I suggest purchasing one or two masks -- but honestly, their cult status is earned: my ultimate recommendation is taking the plunge and buying a box or two. Use them 2-3 times per week, and watch how quickly your skin benefits.
