Has anyone seriously tested this in an off-grid situation? 33 amps at 12V seems pretty optimistic.

You will need a dump load resistor. Missouri wind and solar have an excellent help department, and will have what you need to run it properly. Ditch the factory supplied controller; you’ll thank me later.

What wind speed in miles per hour does it begin to produce power?

I am told by customer service, in excess of 10 mph sustain wind speeds are needed. However, I could have misinterpreted as bad translation from Chinese.
