We keep our step ladder behind the door in or laundry room. I recently purchased a Hailo ladder as a replacement and now the door won't close against the magnetic door stop. This device works perfectly! It extends out far enough to conceal the bigger ladder and fully contacts the magnet. Some reviews have suggested that the magnet is not strong enough. The ball of the stop must be aligned with the magnetic cup. You can't just place it "close enough". The ball must seat fully in the cup. I found that the magnet was actually too strong. I put a layer of masking tape in the cup and that made it perfect. The stop itself is heave duty and well machined. All parts fit nicely. One word about the hollow wall anchors included in the package: THROW THEM AWAY! Find some anchors that have a flange that keep them from being pushed through the wallboard into the wall cavity (I used Greenlee).

Purchased this item to use on the garage door which is heavy and would always slam shut. The item works as advertised and was very simple for me to install. The magnet is strong, but not too strong. A simple light pull on the door will release it. Highly recommend.

Great product. Was concerned whether it would hold my door on an automatic closer and it does! Attractive design and height is adjustable. Easy install. Tip: i first mounted floor post then put painters tape on door side to mark location. the magnet is really strong; i hope the tug to close door doesn’t eventually pull the post out of the floor.

This is a VERY strong magnet doorstop. Using it with the post on the door works very well and is easy to line up. Because when the post is vertical, the concave piece hits the post a little too low. That is, they do not meet at a 90-degree angle. The bottom of the concave piece on the door touches the base of the post, not allowing for a complete mating. The door is still somewhat less firmly held open.

Item has a good weight to it. Excellent finish. Easy to install.

The magnetic door stop technically works, but the magnet is weaker than expected. I tried it in two different spots—first near the hinge (which I figured might reduce leverage and efficacy), so then I tried way out near the edge of the door. No real difference. Same weak hold in both positions. I bought it to keep the stiff breeze from closing the door, but I’ll end up having to replace it due to the weak magnets. It’ll catch the door, but don’t expect it to hold up to much more than a gentle nudge.

I was looking for a 3 inch and a 4-1/4 magnetic door stop of the same style and I love how simply the length can be adjusted, even anytime after installation just by simply twisting or untwistin the long piece. Two doors need to stay open and not let the wind draft slam the doors. Now I can keep the heavy front door open while loading groceries into the house. Also now my sliding barn door doesn't clash with a bedroom door. Really quick to install if you're handy. How I achieved perfect alignment of the pieces: once you secure the non-magnetic side to the wall (or floor), place the magnetic side on it with the metal disc almost-totally unscrewed. Place double sided sticky tape on the disc. Now bring the door towards the disc almost touching. Look at the side profile and adjust as necessary to make sure the flatness of the door and flatness of the disc are parallel. Then press the door on the tape. Fully unscrew the magnetic piece from the disc. Now you can perfectly mark, screw and secure the disc to the door (or wall, whichever way round you decide). Screw everything together and you should get perfect aligned magnet to steel.

This was exactly what I was after Stainless Steel adjustable height magnetic door stop. It was racks as described I was able to adjust to my preferred height and lock it I place with internal threaded lock nut. Everything you need came with it including screws.
