How sturdy is the plastic? Will these hold up to frequent use by rough 2nd graders?

I think they will hold up fine. They are a nice sturdy plastic. I use them for my 5th grade class and my grandchildren ages 4 and 2.

Balls are approximately 3 1/2" in diameter; scoops approximately 16" long (handle about 4 3/4" of that amount), 4 1/4" wide. Hope that helps.

Where can you find the appropriate sized replacement balls? I would like a few extra balls.
